With Lyon tipped as the man to likely take over from David Teague at Carlton, the whispers abound that he could target a pair of former Saints who played under him at Moorabbin. Former GWS assistant Lenny Hayes and highly-rated Richmond assistant coach Andrew McQualter are both believed to be in the frame to reunite with their former coach.
Yes please to all 3 of them!

Article from the sun on Ross and assistants he would like if he coaches:

When Ross became coach at the Saints, one of the first assistants appointed was John Barker.

Just sayin..... ;)

I am sorry that I was rude to you the other day when we disagreed. I was tired and frustrated but that is no excuse. Although we sometimes don't agree you always put a lot of thought into your posts and I certainly enjoy reading them. Keep doing what you're doing.

Let's hope 2022 is a better year for all of us, I feel with the right coaching team Carlton can turn around its performance quickly!
No apology necessary, and here's hoping we can turn it around quickly.

Edit: it's also not as if I didn't deserve it, at least a little bit...

Probably not that dramatic but losing 2 34 yr olds and a 31 yr old would drop your average a fair bit.

Quick number crunch suggests that we go from 24 years and 7 months down to 23 years 11 months

Ha - yeah, certainly could be an option. I was talking high-risk/high-reward more in terms of choosing to head to the draft rather than trade our first for Cerra, as opposed to choosing a high-risk/high-reward player at the draft. I'd love to find another first-rounder for that purpose as there certainly seem to be plenty of good options.

On a side-note, I would be a lot more comfortable trading our future first for Cerra.

Williams and Saad may be our primary HBs for the next 5 years, not convinced poor Docherty will ever get back to his best.
Hi
Everyone seems confused by the emoji and my response yesterday. Let me break it down for you:

This emoji was first included as part of Unicode 6.0 in 2010 and added to Emoji 1.0 in 2015.

2010 Hawks famously had a terrible start to the season and lost 6 in a row. 2015 the year Hawks added 1 more premiership to their cabinet to achieve the three peat. 2015 is also the year Oxford Dictionaries named the face with tears of joy emoji its Word of the Year. 2015 is a significantly important reference.

In November 2013, Brenden Gallagher of Complex ranked the "Laughing Crying Face" emoji at #2 in his "Emoji Power Rankings". A particular coach won their 2nd premiership in 2013.

The emoji is the Emoticons Unicode block: U+1F602. 1x6-2 = 4. 4 Premierships....

The emoji UTF-8 code is 240 159 152 130. 240-159-152+130 = 59. A particular coach's winning percentage as a senior coach is 58.82.

The 7-bit JIS (au by KDDI) is 123 73. 1+2+3+7+3 = 16. Carlton currently has 16 premierships.....

The emoji UTF-16 code is 55357 56834. Now extracting these and using the following expression:

View attachment 1208292

Results in.....

17

and of course the emoji shortcode is: : joy :

The emoji says more than words ever could.

you should have a crack at the zodiac

If true, they are both fantastic gets IMO. Hayes is a champion and has been at a talented GWS side. McQualter has been at Richmond with their recent success. Both loyal to Ross as players and gave everything on field.

This is making me want Ross even more if true, I don't want just a quality coach (well I do), I want to see a quality coaching team and football department.

Really, really rate Hayes and everything I read about McQualter is great.

That being said a Clarko, Hodge combo would make the emojis blast out. Throw in Williams as Head of Development, oooof.

Andrew McQualter would be the most uninspiring coaching appointment since Brent Stanton....

guess he'd be perfect then.

Yeah Richmond's midfield have been shit for the past 5 years. They've achieved nothing in that time.

Yeah Richmond's midfield have been sh*t for the past 5 years. They've achieved nothing in that time.

Was going to say this exact thing.
Okay, I’ll admit McQualter was average at best as a player - but he has been heavily involved in the most recent dominant team and would undoubtedly bring top notch IP & know-how to the role.

Granted he was a gun as a kid and did manage to play in 3 GFs. I reckon he would bring a wealth of coaching experience.

Dean Solomon is gettable as well. Wonder if he is taking calls - just checked year prior to Ross joining Freo tho.

Reminder, the most talented players don't usually make the best coaches.

They tend to make ok list managers apparently.
