Ex-AFL boss Andrew Demetriou and former West Coast president Dalton Gooding were business associates at the height of the illicit drugs crisis that engulfed the club in the mid-2000s.
Company records reveal Demetriou and Gooding were directors of a false teeth export company at the time the AFL was investigating the Eagles over the drugs scandal that cast a shadow over the club’s 2006 premiership.

I think we can trust Vlad to handle any conflicts professionally and only act in the best interests of the AFL.

Seems to be doing better lately, hope he keeps it up. Also lol at the disrespect in the headline at the end....

It says a lot about the general obsession the media has with "influencers" and the like that one of the greatest players of the modern era is referred to as "Bec Judd's husband".

The question remains how did he never test positive for drugs when playing or was it a case with a high profile player of broom, sweep, rug?

It's been well documented over the years how he hid it and gamed the system. In particular using recreational drugs on match day is a lot different to using them during the week. One gets your a 2 year ban (see Willie Rioli) and the other just gets you an anonymous strike which the AFL can stage manage.

The conclusion must be its not or wasn't a very good system
unbelievable that he got away with it all them years

Not a very good system is an understatement and the problems the AFL covered up extended a lot further than Cousins.

For instance before Travis Tuck was found unconcious from an OD no one would have know he had any prior strikes or even if he was using. You also wonder if he wasn't found passed out in public by the police, if the AFL wouldn't have tried to sweep it under the rug like they do a lot of other things.

Still convinced he juiced up at HT of prelim final 2006. Anyone who watched that game has said similar.

You guys still sore losers after all these years?

The reigning Brownlow medalist outperforms his 20 year old opponent in Van Berlo
Crows supporters: Duh, it must have been drugs!?!?!?!!!!!

You blew a 4 goal lead at home in a prelim, you choked big time. No drugs involved, just the Crows inability to get it done when it mattered.

Or, drugs.

Lol at absolute morons who conflate recreational party drugs with gameday performance enhancers. These people literally have had neither yet want to comment with surety the use and effects.
AFL , ASADA, WADA conflate the two on game day, rec drugs are performance enhancing.

It’s all rec drugs and your welcome to go the websites to see their reasonings.

i will say, if the drug does make you feel better or just put you at ease it is therefore performance enhancing.
Went on wadas website, didn’t see reasons only what was list illegal (not that wada isnt a corrupt org anyway)

Your last sentence very interesting. Wouldnt pain relief and mid game injections be performance enhancing ? The answer simply is yes. Might want to be a bit more flexible on your views on this

It’s not my view, it is the AFL ‘s view and they have embraced the ASADA /WADA code.
I am not here to debate the rules, just to highlight to you what they are. There are exceptions for medical reasons which need to be signed off by a doctor.

All recreational drugs ARE considered performance enhancing on game day.
