If Sydney agree to the future first for Dawson, it's in their interest to hold off on that until the last minute, so they don't have that pick for Port to demand for Ladhams. That's what I'd be doing if I was the Swans list manager.

Reckon that is what is at play here. The two clubs have agreed but Swans don’t want Port to know about the future first in 2022.
