Worst on Ground vs Port

Licuria is too slow, he was running down the wing as fast as he can and the commentators were like "Licuria slowly down the wing" i was laugh my head off, but the rain suits him, his strong bodied and when the game gets slowed down and there are a lot of contests he will do better

I respect you opinion champ but no last week I could see the signs, the thing that has tipped me over the edge was todays woeful effort by our senior players.
Obree, Fraser, Clement, Davis, Lockyer, Licuria.
They were no better than pathetic today

You just expressed my point PERFECTLY KH!

Our senior players were disgraceful day, I agree. We had Buckley, Didak and Holland, 3 of our top 6-7 players yet we were leading a quality, hard and fast running side all day long in the wet. Can you imagine what would've happened if Clement ALONE stood up? Or only if Bucks had been out there? That would've been the only difference between a win and a loss.

We are a top side, todays performance will scare away the weak, but I can see the glass half full and Im smiling, we are going to get somewhere this year.

EVERYONE ON THIS PIE BOARD, MARK MY WORDS AND REMEMBER THIS..

If we get our stars back, and our seniors into some good form for the 10-15 weeks (Business end of the year) then we are going to be AS dangerous in the AFL as a WCE. Mark my words. Give Buckley CHF, give Dids the middle with some fitness, play Brodie (who has had an extended pre-season), wait until Fraser, Clement and Cloke hit some form with this young group and watch how potent and dangerous we will be.

I'll make this prediction after witnessing Collingwood's game today.

If the 3 stars come back and play magnificently, and our seniors get some form, and our youngsters maintain their consistency, we will win the Premiership. Because this is such an open year, that it can go to anyone. Mark my words!

Have faith Pie fans! With MM, without MM, it doesnt matter, we have the right type of list to go all the way if we can maintain form and stay injury-free at the RIGHT end of the season!

No ruck? So? We have a midfield that knows how to get clearances when on their day, we have a midfield that can run any other midfield in the AFL on its day. I guess we just have to make sure that we are in top form when it counts. So Im not worried if we arent playing well in RD 1 2 3 4. Id rather be playing well in the right end of the season.

Have faith!

GO PIES!

Ok first off this thread is genuinely disturbing and weird. This thread belongs on a Richmond board.

Secondly I thought it was a decent game, not one of the best but we didn't embarress ourselves either. In my humble opinion Collingwood continues to defy the haters by putting in decent performances.
Just wait until Didak, Buckley and Medders return to the side. With T Cloke being in the forward line as a decoy yet opposition backmen KNOW at this stage he's impotent anyways don't discount how much of a giant turnaround having Buckley in the forwardline will make.

yep in respect to pie lebo's and angelus512's posts, the biggest brightside of the first 4 rounds is we are yet to play our best footy, and because of this we are yet to blow a team out of the water (which would go a long way in our confidence). We have a number of key players to come in, our youth has shown nothing but improvement, poise and willingness. I think we shall create some headaches in the near future....but still sceptical about claims to top 4....i think there are a number of other sides that are infront of us going on current form and lists. But hey id love to be proven wrong....however we do drastically need a bigbodied ruckman

The reason we lost today, was because of some basic skill errors, esspecially in the final term.
I counted at least three times in the forth quater,we turned the ball over on the wing, when we were under no pressure at all,and it resulted in a Port goal.
Basic 30 metre kicks to a bloke standing by himself in the centre, going directly to a Port player who spots up a player in their forward fifty, then he goes and goals.
It was our mistakes that let them back into the game, and allowed them to get the four points.

Port Adelaide made alot of mistakes too. In fact probably more. We didn't capitalise on them. I think any team who lost yesterday was going to be unlucky. It could of easily have been us that kicked those 3 quick goals, but we didn't. There is no fundamental lack of anything that really cost us the game. Perhaps skill, but I don't see how Port Adelaide's skill won them the game.

Skill level on both sides were down due to the weather but I don't really think ours was anywhere near the quality of PA's. We made way too many unforced errors and didn't capitalise on their errors at all.

After Swan kicked his two goals at the start of Q3 it went all down hill from there. They got first use of the ball at centre breaks, whether that was the fault of the ruckmen or centres I'm not too sure.

Come on... yeah skill and decision making wise thats the worst i've seen jimmy play but he gave tredrea an old fashioned bath. I still believe jimmy is carrying that calf injury.

Not hitting the panic buttons yet as we are only 2-2.

But the worst on ground against port was easily.....

Travis Cloke

This guy really needs to lift, with a body like his, he should be having more off an impact on games (yes, i know hes 20). At least Rocca had a good first half where he was breaking packs open and bring the ball to ground. T Cloke needs to go back to Williamstown and find some confidence fast.

Bit harsh for the criticism on Fraser and Richards, the conditions didnt really suit them.

we should of tried to get everitt and the end of last season
Fill in option. No real value.

Leurenberge and Gumbleton would have made fine ruckmen, even though Gumby suits a KPP as well

Chris Dawes will need to become a superstar, because its with that pick we should have chosen a ruckman. Same to for McAffer - we should have rookied a ruckman as well. All clubs should have 4 rucks and a rookie ruck on their list.

Which ruckman should have we picked with the pick we got Dawes with?

I'm no expert on the names of the youngsters, but be assured there will be a number of ruckmen in this years draft who will succeed. Kurt Tippett's one name that springs to mind.

After recruiting two kpp's with picks 8 and 10 (which I dont have an issue with), taking a punt on Dawes who is another kpp is a luxury I dont think we could afford, when we are so desperate for ruckmen.

I don't disagree with this, I think though the ruckmen in the past draft left a lot to be desired. Add to this the fact that 80% of rucks drafted won't be ready to play year 1 anyway. I think not getting a ruckman at all (apart from Bryan) in both rookie and national draft was a bit of a puzzling decision.
