My New Years Resolutions are to get a job and marry someone on Feb 22nd prob won’t get the second one but was always my goal to meet someone and marry on that day, I’m still single now though so not likely!

Idk.. men order brides from Russia all the time.

Surely it works both ways?:thumbsupv1:

Dude has been a bit of a let down thus far.

He doesn't have many weapons to trouble the top 5 in a serious tournament. He's like a speedy Gonzalez all around the court. Terrific counter puncher (resembles Lleyton Hewitt in that regard) but it's almost like he's reached the pinnacle of what he can become. World class and will have a successful and long career but can he ever win a grand slam? Highly unlikely.

Agree with all that.

Tennis is such a tough sport and I reckon if you're making a decent living out of it, then you're pretty much a success. Not everyone can win the big ones.

Agree.
These athletes are freaks. They push themselves to places not many ever will. They deserve everything they get in return from a financial stand point.
Someone like Alex has already made over 5 million dollars in prize money. This does not include sponsors and other commitments which would be mega bucks in it's own right.
Absolutely ludicrous wealth from cracking the pro's in tennis.

Have you read Agassi's autobiography?? Even he had his real tough times in the sport. You just assume oh yeah, he's a champion it would have all come easy.

Could not be further from the truth.

And agree again.

If the sport generates this kind of money, then they are deserving of it. Especially when they are playing on courts in 35+ degree heat and court temps of 50 degrees which is crazy

Never read it.
I think it is very easy to get misconceptions about money and sports stars. We all think if you have the money, you should be happy in life. Obviously not the case.
Some of the happiest people are not all that wealthy but have well balanced lives.

Sports stars are really scrutinized harshly. It wouldn't be for everyone.
The pressure is probably at a level not many everyday people would be able to comprehend. Especially when you have grown up excelling and your window of opportunity is minuscule before the body declines.

The dedication is absurd.
Like AFL footballers, a different breed of person.

Always amazed me how some people in the general public can juggle a business and keep themselves in tip top shape no matter their age.

Yeah im sure it was but im not getting excited til De Minaur puts some results in a grand slam and not a little lead in tournament

He's been injured a lot. He's a decent player but kinda like David Goffin, will be consistent but doesn't have enough firepower to do much.

Unfortunately our most talented player doesn't give a fk, he runs rings around the others talent-wise but won't ever crack the top echelon as tennis is a mental sport.

Still fun to watch though.

My mate is coaching Popyrin, he'll do more than De Minaur I reckon.
