Based on what? He's pretty much rated exactly where you'd expect - Not in the top few wings but a nice player who is an immediate upgrade on our current options. Any better and we'd be paying through the teeth to get him.

Langdon burns a decent amount of ball and is still considered one of the league's best wingers. You take the good with the bad. He uses the ball pretty well overall, has nice vision, happy to take on (and execute) a kick into the corridor.

Looking at his history he might be joining some of our tall defenders in the rehab group.

Doesn’t make sense IMO. A 2-bit winger, just stick with LOB, Cotters (even Newnes) & develop, you should end up with a better outcome if the coaching is right. A bit Polec like, steer clear & just don’t see anything special from him = wasted target & dollars associated to move (dread a L/T deal to entice across).

I’m all for a classy left-footed winger but nothing to see here. Preferable to get back-up with the likes of Sholl & scour the land for wing possibilities that can be drafted in ala Carmichael via SANFL.

Really hope the STK talk turns out to be on the money come trade time. That is not a cheap contract either.

If he is willing to come for slight unders (600k x 4) and it doesnt compromise our ability to retain other players he would be a good get. Wouldn't want to overpay for him though.

Don't see him becoming a Polec. He is a better player, would be coming for less money and joining a more dominant midfield. Think he is the type that could look awesome in our midfield but rubbish in a rebuilding club like Hawthorn

Amon is a better player then what George was at Sydney when we signed him. George on this years form is the better player though.

$600K P/A, not worth that kind of money, tenure or the impost on the S/C with other priorities to be re-signed.

The solace that I take in an Amon signing - as well noted I am not a fan at all - is that Vossy knows him inside and out. If he believes that we can get him for market value and that he fits the medium to long term game plan that he intends to employ then it's not really about having faith in Amon and instead believing in Vossy.

Vossy clearly got the best out of that Port midfield. Amon included.

As for Port not being too concerned about Amon leaving... They clearly have their eyes on Rozee converting to full time mid/winger. Therefore they already have the premium permanent replacement ready to roll.
