smug much?

I‘m smug all right, and you’ll like it.

It’s a hugely overrated sketch with versions known to be performed since the 1870s.
It‘s only associated with Abbot &Costello because they performed it on a mass media, radio and then tv (and not even first by the way).

You may think it’s genius, and that’s Ok But it’s not original in the slightest, and 8n my view the performance lacks the charm of their contemporaries.

As I said before, each to his own.

Just want to pass on a little info that I’ve heard today from a Carlton mate passed on to him…
Pittonet and McGovern are strong chances of playing if not next week against StKilda then against West Coast the week after…
Weiters very big chance for Saints game…

You'd have to assume McGovern would need to play a few games in the reserves. Like Martin, he can't be trusted, particularly after destroying his hamstring in training... training!

Tiresome.

Nothing is genuinely original. Everything is built on something preceding it.

Fact is it’s a skit by a couple of slapstick comedians that have made generations of people giggle since the 1930s. Respect.

Exactly what i would have thought Plow considering McGovern’s poor injury record but apparently going to be blocked up and brought strait back in, only passing on what i was told and as I’ve said on here before I’m far from knowing anyone in the know at all period, just happens to be a mate who’s dad has a little bit to do with the club…
We’ll see how it pans out 👍

Sounds like Sheedy, Hird and Dodoro since 2000...

It’s almost plagiarised, it builds on nothing.

The only innovation is positing the constituents within baseball rather than occupations or similar, as had been the custom. And there’s even doubt as to who did that.

as an example of burlesque/vaudeville the recorded performance is hackneyed at best.

culturally it’s important because it is the most widely recognised example of this type of skit but it is no better than an adequate cover version.

as I keep saying, each to their own. If you enjoy it, great.
but what is genuinely tiresome, is having to defend myself because I don’t share the prevailing admiration for two knock off opportunists.

Now bounce the ball FFS.

What's going on with North?
Are they tanking or the worst team/worst coached club in the history of the game?

Tarryn Thomas, was a good player... Today had 3 touches with 78 minute game time... (could be another Hewett cheapy)

They have a list of first round draft picks...
That on form none of them bar Simpkin, would be even worth a first round draft pick...

If Nobel keeps his job they could be rife for the picking...
Comben - KPF with tallent can't get a game through injury...
Stephenson - Could work on a wing...
McKay - A shadow of his former self, may want out...

this probably tells the story, just doesnt give a shit clearly only in it for money

It's better than the overrated 'Parrot Sketch' and this is coming from someone who likes MP and prefers their TV show to the movies.

Apparently his Nan passed away during the week and he's been struggling a bit

so where can I see an original version?

if You were around in the 1870s… maybe.

the point is you can’t. Certainly not by watching two relatively unfunny hacks who didn’t even write the version they are famous for… the point is that you go on and on about the genius of the who’s on first sketch… yet it’s written by others and lifted wholesale from a well worn stage routine that was closing in on at least half century by the time they recorded it in 1938.

your pithy little throwaway line isn’t anywhere near as clever as you think…

and to think you call me smug.

now jog on.

beginning to understand the level of opprobrium you seem to attract.

he posted that comment not even 10 minutes after todays game finished, sorry but thats no excuse.

Your interpretation of an exchange with a keyboard warrior is doing a hell of a lot of legwork for your judgement of his character.

10 mins after a heavy loss, reportedly after the loss of a close family member - he's posted on social media in a less than polished manner.. Is it at all surprising? Nope.
Whilst we're at it, what's your excuse for your own lack of forethought?

Yea what a dog
Absolutely no excuse
You get heaps of nans in your life
He can go get another one next week ffs
What a dog
Worst ever
Dog act
What a bastard
Wow, he’s human …

It was a dick response, but have to say I agree with you guys.

Even if there was no mitigating circumstances not many people have a workplace where randoms get to pass judgement on your bad day.
