I just post what I'm told. And I only post if I trust the source 100%. By all means, you can think I'm full of s**t but I reckon deep down you know I'm not.

But you're right, in a season of 1 win against a WAFL side I suppose a journo reporting that 1/3 of playing list doesn't have a problem with the coach is a real positive. To Infinity And Beyond!
He’s saying it’s more complicated than one bloke being the issue.

I know thats shit house news because it’s easier to blame it all on one bloke - then the action is simple we can just get rid of him.

Before you blow up - he’s also not saying that Noble shouldn’t be sacked.

PS I on the other hand, do think you are full of shit ✌️

"Prominent managers contacted yesterday — they have about 15 North players on their books — said there was no issue with their players and the coach."

The resident bloodthirst posters going to acknowledge this?

I've been saying this all season but people keep ignoring it, or worse; telling me I'm wrong when my info comes from pretty damn solid sources.

You’re wrong. And my source only needs 1 drop of catalyst to make it more solid.

My guess is you’re source isn’t as close to players as mine. They might work closer, but they’re not closer.

If you don’t believe me, then don’t bother quoting me cause I couldn’t give a shit what you think.

One of your saucessss are either lying or not as close as you think ;)

You both can’t be right?

the farewell game this week for him
Can't see it happening. I know Walsh was a big reason why Teague exited Carton but Noble is very well supported from within the club. I get the feeling that this will be a Hardwick 2016 type situation where a lot of the line and development coaches get replaced with experience people to compliment Noble..

They can both be right in that they’ve been told things. One can have sources coming from the players and the other from what the office is getting told.

**** knows. Not many kids would just tell people what they want to do. Most despise people that ask and will just say whatever, Admin and coaches just as clueless as everyone else because a lot of kids don’t want confrontation or pressure.

Not really. The reason of Walsh coming in is to get to the bottom of what is going. Different people believe different thing about what’s going on.

Just look at Nobles, he acts as if we’re 6 and 9 and trying to push into the 8!

I think alot of this thread is missing the point when talking about whether Nobes has the players on side.

In any AFL club with as many players on the list covering a 15 year age gap there will always be personality clashes, cliques, single boys v family men etc etc.

IMO the 'players on side' issue is a very minor part of the Walsh review.

Ultimately the issue is whether after 35-40 games do we think Nobes is/can be a good coach - is he getting results consistent with the playing list and the path of the rebuild we are under.

As a young coach (in games coached) is he capable of the improvement required to be successful or has he shown enough characteristics of failed coaches in past era's.

In my mind he has shown signifcant weaknesses in strategy (game plan, choice of leadership group) and tactics (Thursday night selection and game day moves.)

Nobes is very good in the areas of media and stakeholder management.

Ultimately though the issue for Walsh and the club is whether there is a materially better coach available to us - if the answer is yes then we must move and move swiftly - if not then the second best outcome of improving the experience around Nobes comes into play.

By that logic we can't believe any media content quoted from player managers so they may as well not bother talking to reporters at all, in which case who do you think is worth interviewing from a footy journalist perspective?
Just so we're clear on the logic - it's that player managers don't necessarily tell journos that their players hate the coach, even if it's true.

It's conceivable that the player keeps that info to himself or the manager and player decide not to say anything. Why? Because it'd be highly inflammatory to tell any journo that. Maybe the player doesn't want that coming back to him, maybe he's worked out how to manage it. Doesn't mean he likes the coach, but he's not going to tell the world.

On the other hand, if journos ring up and ask how many years Johnny Player is looking for in his next contract, the manager might be happy to say 3. Because that's not going to blow up any relationships.
