Denial, anger, bargaining, depression, acceptance.

See you in trade week. Our year will attract some important individuals to plug some role gaps.

Go Blues.

They learnt from Marc with a C Murphy and Bryce Gibbs.

We have the absolute mentally weakest group of players going around.

How can you lob up today after last week and make exactly the same mistakes in the last two minutes as last week?

WTF???

Take a deep breath. It hurts but it's only a game.

If Hewett was healthy you'd probably be top 4. Ever since he went down you've been pants. His handballs off the back of the bounce set you going forward so often. Plus he's hard AF in the contest. If he can get his back right you should do well next year. Might want to consider resting him for 3 games along the season.

Tigers went out and improved their sports psychology department and it worked wonders for them. That surely has to be the next step now. As well as fitness, Russell has had enough time to prove himself and it just hasn't worked.
I agree. Add more to our psychology department, I’ve been saying it for years. We’ve had the talent on paper (Dow was suggested as a no.1 pick!), e just need to get the boys believing it.

So still can't lean on a preseason prediction?
Predictions are just guesses. Not based on fact.
Anyone who says they “predicted” we would finish ninth and is happy with the chokes that infiltrated the second half of the season is no doubt happy their wife/husband is only fantasising about Angelina when they are making love to you.

are you really a phsycologist?...you sound like one...lol
I am, yes.
It’s a shame I’m so protective of my privacy because I could make a fortune advertising here after today’s game.

So proud of what we’ve achieved this year, I know we didn’t make finals but to have this type of year with a brand new coach and never having anywhere close to full squad availability has been great.

Charlie won the Coleman, Cripps will poll 20+ in the Brownlow and we’ve cemented a few new faces in our best XXII as well as escorted a few out that aren’t up to it in a competitive team.

Next year will be massive. Our top end talent is seriously elite. You watch and see what we do in the coming years. I’m proud to support this famous club and while this loss hurts it’s offset by what’s to come.

Commiserations guys. Was really cheering for the Blues today. I've been really impressed by your team this year. Injuries have made it tough and losing Walsh on game day after Hewett was scratched on Friday summed up your year on the injury front. I thought not picking de Konig was a mistake - he's a really good young player.

In Vossy you guys have a good coach who learnt from one of the best how to guide a team to finals. And your roster is in good shape. I reckon the Blues will be in the eight next year.

Spot on

Walsh looked so devastated in the box after the siren. Charlie let out an F bomb. Doc looked broken.

Our players looked so broken tonight after the siren. I’d love to have been a fly on the wall in the rooms.

This hurts us and them. I think it’s what the boys need. They will use this as fuel for next year. We will be ok :)

Does anyone have any social media pics from change rooms after the siren?

This is by far the worst I've ever felt after a game. Farken unhealthy...angry doesn't begin to describe how I'm feeling and really not good. Had to leave the house as I was getting out of control. When other things aren't going great in your life and then this the past two weeks, it's enough to almost send one over the edge. Not all about football, but it can seriously bring everything else to a head.

And if I see Giinivan one more time doing his baiting of the crowd, then claim the mental health card...go &^ yourself mate.
Take it easy mate...We're all feeling your pain.
I was there with my 11yo daughter and was sitting in the pocket where Durdin had the ball in the dying moments. There were so many options and he executes the most horrendous one possible. Straight to Howe with plenty of space to initiate a fast counter attack.
On the way home my daughter was trying to tell me it would be worse to lose a grand final that way to Collingwood.....and maybe she's right, but the thought of even making a Grand Final seems so fanciful at the moment.

Hope you can find a way to settle down.
I remember when we lost to Sydney in the 2005 semi final in agonizingly poor fashion. We completely stunk it up the following year as it felt that loss stung all players and supporters like you wouldn't believe.
It finally turned around in 2007.

I seriously think your list is going to challenge for the flag next year. They will be right in their prime and as good of a year guys like Walsh, Curnow, Weitering, Silvagni, McKay (only 24 years!), De Koning had, they will be even more consistent after another preseason in the gym.

Carlton's window is open for a few years so top four has to be a priority in 2023.

Need a good run with injuries. Too many soft tissue mishaps stunted your season at the wrong time.

People telling others "it's just a game" are off the mark. That may be how you see it which is fine, doesn't mean others will.

I am absolutely obsessed with and fanatical about this football club. My family has barracked for them for over 100 years. It means everything to me. To say its just a game is insulting.

Its also why you hear the tsunami of noise like you heard today in the 3rd quarter. It's our passion and it ****ing hurts when it gives you very little in return.

Please hire a goalkicking coach that specialises in teaching some mental fortitude. The 40 metre plus snap hasn’t worked all year. It is a cop out. It reared its ugly head again today. If Charlie simply kicks a drop punt in the second quarter from 40 out, we are playing finals. So disappointing.
One of the best set shot kicks of all time fev
And I recon he would happily come down to the club and give his advice

Missing finals after being 8-2 hurts. Like many of us, I flew over to the Adelaide game thinking it'd be a sure-fire win and we all know how that went. Knew from that point onwards we weren't going to make finals. Went to last weeks' and today's game knowing we'd lose, expecting a 10+ goal thrashing last week. Yes the result sucks, but how good was that 3rd quarter! Even better getting stuck into the pies fans in front of me. Gives us something to hold on to for the next 6 months. Since 2014, by round 23 we have truly given up and we've had some shocking losses, so I'll take the 1 point loss no problems. Now to face tomorrow with only pies supporters at work.

Our players looked so broken tonight after the siren. I’d love to have been a fly on the wall in the rooms.

Going by my football experience, you would hear a pin drop in the rooms after a loss like that. There would be no talking at all, just reflection.

As much as we hurt as supporters, they would be shattered, this is what they live and work for, day in-day out and they've blown it twice in a row, and they know they have.

Easy to forgive the losses against St Kilda, Adelaide, Melbourne and Collingwood x2.

Easy if you make excuses.
Who is forgiving them?

Wouldn’t trade the losses to Adelaide and Saints for wins against the good sides because the wins were more important to show we are capable.

Yet to see a club have an undefeated season, always going to be a game or two that you regret and there will always be reasons for a loss. Would rather it was injuries than not having enough talented players on the list in the first place.

Forgiving an unexpected loss is not the same as making excuses.

For so many seasons, we bemoaned a lack of talent at the Club. We have addressed that. We have played some scintillating football this season and yes, we have played some dumb football as well.

But the talent doesn't go away.

What this side needs is another 15-30 games together. 15-30 games to keep learning how each other play. 15-30 games to learn to play Vossy and the coaching department's game style.. 15-30 more games games. Injuries have hurt us badly.. but they have also fast tracked the development of some in our team. Young is a beauty.
15-30 games...with only a couple of players older than 28, this WILL happen.

See you all in a few months..

Go Blues..
Here is the issue.

Just another 15 to 30 games. So what, 2024 now?

Just a 66 game rebuild...

How long you want to wait and excuse the club... we have enough "talent" and had enough time to get ourselves organized and in order.

At what point do we run out of patience.

Wait wait wait. Always waiting.
Guess what the competition wont stop for us, while we get it together.

Theyll innovate, and progress, while we wait wait wait

No. Durdin's and Charlie's brain fades had a greater impact on the result. Technically correct decision. All Jack had to do was hold his ground.
i agree about not blaming umpires...we ****ed up... simple...

but just on jsos...a filth player pushed him into the other filth player so not jsos fault. nothing jsos could do really.
