Who hasn’t finished top 10 in the b&f for the last 2 years despite playing 21 games this year.
🤦‍♂️

In his last year as our genuine ruck he finished 2nd in our BnF.

In his spell as our only genuine ruck this season. He compares an awful lot to the games Premier ruck

not sure I can make my point any clearer.

So carry on with your ifs, buts and maybes about Clark.

It’s an exhausting and ultimately pointless argument for a bloke we might not even trade.

I would argue McCrae would know there is an offer on the table and they are negotiating. He wouldn’t need every update in the middle of September, would he?

Weird take from you.
I'd find it funny if DeGoey had agreed to sign and the coach hadn't been told whilst people in the public are sharing that information.

Not sure why that's such a weird take...

This thread has turned into a s**t show.

And its about the only active thread on the forum now
You could say this thread = St Kilda FC.

Some elite talent, but needs more input from the fringe if we are to improve. Generally a shit show.

As I said earlier.

Agreed in principal is different to actually signing the contract, No?

Again, Clearly the news got out. Because I’ve literally said he is taking a deal with triggers for additional years.

The deal isn’t done.

Hill would like to go.

Ratten would actually like to keep him. I think he goes

A “salary dump” makes no sense as you would need to be bringing in a player with that salary. I believe we missed out on de Goey.

Multi year deal with triggers for more years apparently
It would make sense if they matched the $$$$

But it wasn’t a monumental increase. We were only 100-150k more a season from what I heard.

I said to Mowman Joffaboy StCicatriz Rors And Moorabbin Ghost that originally. So I have no need to pretend I made it up and a story to go along with it.

Again - I actually want to be wrong. But based on Jon Ralph yesterday. The offer we had seems roughly around the mark.

The multi year deal with triggers for additional years now seems to be correct.

I’m 2/3 with that last one being official confirmation he stays with the pies.

So the info seems pretty good. Regardless of whether or not you can connect the dots of McCraes words in the media to how it’s played out.

It’s still seems to be spot on.

Or they have more information about where Clark is currently at and ranks alongside our other midfield prospects than we do.
Wouldn’t exactly call us experts at ranking midfielders.

Mate, you need to stop getting your knickers in a knot.

I'm not calling you a liar or or suggesting there isn't info out

All I'm saying is that I find it funny that if true, there are randoms PMimg each other about it for 2 weeks prior to the coach even being told.

You're making a huge assumption that what the coach has said publicly is what actually is occurring, you've also made an assumption as to the meaning of what he said.

Like stav said degoeys management could have verbally said he's not going anywhere but we'd like to wait until finals are done before we put pen to paper.

St Kilda is reportedly “unwilling” to offer Jordan de Goey the monster deal it would take to lure him away from Collingwood for 2023 and beyond.

De Goey, a free agent, has endured a tumultuous year with his new deal with Collingwood famously pulled after his Bali nightspot antics during the Mid-Season bye.

But after returning to Australia, De Goey has let his footy do the talking and was one of the Magpies best in the late stages of the year.

Collingwood coach Craig McRae has repeatedly said he hopes De Goey stays at the Magpies.

It’s believed the Pies are willing to put a behavioural clause into a new deal for De Goey - reportedly worth up to $800,000 per year.

According to the Herald Sun, St Kilda made an “impressive pitch” to De Goey about heading to Moorabbin.

But they are unwilling to cough up the reported $1 million per season it would take to convince De Goey to move clubs

I did make that assumption. I'd hardly say it's a huuuuge one though. It was just a light hearted comment about something I found funny.

Nothing for anyone to get all defensive about so you can all move on. Last thing I was trying to do was upset the PM mafia

Our club people have been keeping their heads down haven't they. Haven't heard a peep from Lethlean. The media would be chomping at the bit to hear from him re Hill, Clark and De Goey.

There goes the opportunity to move up in the draft via the Brisbane first rounder

Another example of the double dip. The AFL has to ban selling off your highest pick to take FS and interstate academy kids. Bulldogs got to trade for Treloar and get pick one quality with a bunch of rubbish.

Sydney pioneered it. The Lions get Ashcroft, Fletcher and now Dunks from one draft. Just not fair on sides below them. It's like winning the lottery getting a gun FS now.

Like i said, according to some.

You would also be in the Yay Dunstan got traded for nothing corner. Yet using your logic he killed it in the brownlow count and helped win us games.

So which is it?
It doesn't matter what some posters on here think of Hill, the coaches clearly rated his output this year and have him firmly in our best 22 based off his best and fairest positioning.

Dunstan wasnt traded. He was a free agent and his market value dictated that he wasn't worth anything on the open market given the only club to offer him a contract didn't offer him one big enough to trigger compensation.

Logic shows these aren't the comparable situations you think they are.

Maybe they actually have got something brewing and keeping the big footy posters and saints fans calm for this period is not their no 1 priority. Who knows . Some surprise trades have been popping up the last few years in trade week so will happen again this year.

They aren't but both handled messily IMO. Dunstan was let known was out. Looks like Matt Crouch at Adelaide. You can't see why they handled it so badly and publicly.

Hill is a strange one, the club seem pretty happy to lose him but are at least putting on an act this time. We are going to feel the loss of Hill despite what people on here say. He's definitely not a bad player and he provides a heap of our run in a pretty static side.

Coffield or Connolly is going to have to come on quickly.
