Yeah but then you pluck a country like Egypt with a 38% vaccination rate which has less than half of the rate of death/1m population.

581 in Aus compared with 211 in Egypt.

And then when you consider all the different factors in society and geography between other countries, there is literally no way to measure or make claims like "oh well it would've been worse".

I managed to spend quite a bit of time outside last year and wasn't called a murderer once, amazing eh? Maybe a break from the internet or whatever media you were consuming would have been good.

I would have been comfortable with a similar approach last year (accepting that a return to normal will mean there will be deaths) - but I also understand that it was determined a lack of vaccine meant that it wasn't quite as safe to do that as it is now. I realise I'm probably at an advantage on this point in these threads, as I didn't see 'experts' as Bond villians who actually wanted us to never leave our house again. Over-zealous in parts, sure.

Having met a few anti vaxxers now that did get covid and which is most of them, the majority have been significantly physically and mentally weakened with serious long term effects that's impacting on their ability to work 8 and 12 months later.

No, more than the one if the last one was the worst. I've been doing these for twelve months but mostly nobody here notices I'm gone. It isn't what I usually do in that although I have all the right skillsets, I'm not a trucker.

I'm better at it and fitter than most of the men they're got left to pool from. I said 'yes' because the money's too good to pass on and I like the challenge.
