I feel it is a bit high (wished we'd finish higher up the table and had pick 8 to 12 or around that mark). But I'm not against giving up 5 for Rankine as some on BF feel it is gross overs. You are getting a known quantity with pick 5 you can't guarantee that with a kid. I don't think there is much doubt he is the most exciting player in the comp and has star factor written all over him.

He should be the best my exciting small forward in the comp for a decade. He is going to be elite, and he can win a game or turn a game and as he builds his tank, he can pinch hit in the midfield and hurt. I realise as a small forward it can be feast or famine. If we kept 5 that would become 6 and you can't guarantee who you're getting. Our last pick 6 was Fish. I known quantity bring it on and watch him light it up.

Now as a club let's build a midfield that can get it down there.

I find that sort of reasoning a bit odd, ‘Pick 5 for Rankine is the only pick we have so we might as well use it, he’ll be better than a kid at that pick’.
Why did the likes of Brisbane only cough up Pick 12 for a contracted Charlie Cameron, who had very similar upside/potential and stats as Rankine at the same age?

You don’t give away a top 5 draft pick just because you have it. Same argument could be made for other players being traded into other sides being ‘better than a kid at the draft’

We definitely could have done both IMO

This is what we did last year with Dawson. Pick 4 was off the table from the beginning and we only offered late firsts.

Not sure why we haven't tried to get in the same position again this time (or just drop back in the draft).

The club's should have 2 weeks internally to sort trades out, and then everything has to be lodged within a 48 hour period.

Would be much more entertaining from a supporters standpoint.

IIRC Trade Week was 2 weeks ....due to players requiring medicals & normally having to be contacted overseas, whilst on holidays .....it was also felt the Grand Final teams required the extra space, to review their list

Deal was agreed to days ago but they're currently at a stalemate over which superhero is the coolest. Reid is staying firm on Batman but GC are arguing that he doesn't actually have a super power so he can't be the best.

That roundabout was always easy af from 3 directions.
Never had an issue entering from the south, east or north-east. West and North though. Hated it.

But since it got re-done. Easy as hell. (Well, unless you're coming from the North-East and want to head west, and some c*** comes from the south and stops you being able to get into the left to go West. But I guess you can always do a full 450 around the 2nd roundabout if you must.
