Traded Jason Horne-Francis [to Port Adelaide in multi-club trade]

Are GWS looking to use picks 3, 12, 15, 18 and 19 purely for the draft? Or do they want to get some players in via trade?

Maybe we could upgrade pick 33 or 43 for one those later picks and offer up Byrne-Jones or Bonner?

We genuinely need to trade away a player for 2nd round. Can't see it happening another way.

Hayes, Drew, Bonner, DBJ, Farrell. DBJ with most value in that lot perhaps as an All-Australian and club BnF although he was off it best this year. I know he just resigned but yeah either him or Drew

In all seriousness North have actually done fine out of this deal. So have West Coast. GWS showed up, bent over and handed over the lube to make it work for everyone else, and I salute them for it.
Yeah I think north have done well. What more can you hope for to get for a player that wants out than a similar pick + a future 1st on top. That’s a good deal.

Also west coast, despite people knocking them to get out of pick 2 and the private school vic boys and into hewett territory , whose not far behind, if at all those vic boys plus get another pick. That’s good for them.

Ports given up a lot, but the fact we get future 2nds and 3rds back helps a lot,

In the end rozee butters jhf Bergman sinn to look forward too in our midfield.

I really rate that group of players as a future midfield. High end young talent there.

8,15,18 = 3648 points
9,17,20(F2),28 = 4083 points

Pick 40 equivalent differential
That’s also basing F2 as start of 2nd round
Your draft picks are not magic beans. No matter how you trade and repackage them you can't get enough of them to afford JHF. You need to trade out a decent player. This was a case on day 1, it still is.

Brady Rawlings referencing offers from last year, the above effectively mirrors what was on the table from Richmond. Hindsight is 20/20 however given what we know now, if they could go back, NM take that deal every day of the week!

You really don't get it do you? There won't be a bidding war. Just like there is no bidding war for Izak Rankine. Horne-Francis wants nothing to do with the Adelaide Football Club. Next year, North will be trading with Port and Port only.
Lol, funny shit. If he's that desperate to get to SA, he'll go to Adelaide.

If he enters the PSD, Adelaide take him for free.

Looks like it's you guys that don't get it.

Port are a 2nd rounder short, not as short as most North fans seem to think. 8, F1 and 33 is more than any trade since Judd and if North want more than that, JHF simply doesn’t get traded this year.

The second rounder they need access to next year is for Rioli effectively
You know I love your work Snuff man, so I’ll repeat myself just this once.

North won’t accept a deal if there isn’t a top 5 or quality player involved.

We rejected the Richmond offer.

Also, if we wanted those picks traded with GWS as you have suggested we would do it ourselves. How does Port doing it prior to trading them to us make them more valuable?

If the big mega trade falls through (and seems like it probs does), I dont see how you get that. I get North fans want blood but JHF is a sunk cost at this point, if you can get 8, F1 and 33, I think they just take that and push on. I cant see you getting better than that next year and as a rebuilding team, you get the benefit of a year of development into pick 8 and 33 and not waste your time on a kid who is absolutely leaving next year. still the 2nd most expensive trade of all time if that happens.

Would actually need to be a top four pick, as there is a clear top five and one is Ashcroft.

So if Port aren't going to give up a player they need to somehow get a first rounder off West Coast, GWS or Essendon.

Then he will see out the remainder of his contract.

Yea rejected prior to having a disgruntled player who has had multiple issues across the year. As I said rewind the clock, that deal is accepted!

Also, probably tough to comprehend but Port currently own Ports F1 pick, so for GWS picks to be involved as I suggested, need Ports involvement.

It’s a lack of brain power causing issues on these boards. That’s not to say everyone has to agree, but at least comprehend what you are reading before blankly saying no and pointing out how stupid it is 🥴

Lachie Jones to me would be the perfect "tiebreaker" for Port to let go. Good player but limited ceiling, can be replaced.
I actually think Lachie Jones has a very high ceiling, problem with Lachie I think is he also has a low floor.

He has the attributes to be a star, but could also amount to nothing.

Stronger draft next year.
Pick 8-12 + 33

For 15 and 18 is about right
Pick 9 is break even for GWS, stronger draft makes it slightly more, plus the fact going up the order always costs a slight premium

Small problem Port are likely to finish closer to the top 5-6 which makes the deal horrible. GWS would be silly to do it and are likely to be swapping with North for pick 1 anyway

Hadnt see anything that screams potential star (like a Rozee or Butters from pretty much day 1) but you'd know more than me.

You would have said Port were likely to finish top 4 in 2021.
Maybe even Collingwood bottom 4…

Additionally, North won’t trade pick 1 unless WCE are involved and they get 2 and 3
