Sorry to say, but that was classic Acres. He did the same in the D50 in the first quarter, fumbled a completely uncontested mark. He does something like that every single game, hears footsteps and panics, or just straight up panics. The sooner he is out of your team, the better. List management error offering him the contract you did.

Hollands showed a bit though. Didn't get a lot of it, but was around it often. Felt like he maybe needs to hold his space from the ball carrier a bit, and will end up with a lot more touches. Looks like he'll be a good wingman for you guys, great runner.

We didn't offer huge money so the criticism of our list management is unwarranted and unwanted. He was wearing a Carlton guernsey tonight so you're now on here bagging one of our players. Your club also selected him for 20 games in a finals year. Seems to just be a case of sour grapes.

Still overusing the handball. Really need to take that out of our game. If the option is there take it but gaining territory, especially in a hot contest, can go a long way to locking the ball inside 50 and having more scoring opportunities. Even though we gave up 65 inside 50s… our defence held up great, particularly in the second half when Richmond played with more composure. Turned the game back our way and battled it out. Execution costed us the 2 points at the end but these are things we can iron out throughout the season. Interesting times ahead!

Take a draw. Was an arm wrestle the whole night. Obrien had to take the kick way earlier.. Harry had acres of space. Acres dropped a sitter

Nailed the kick but so ridiculous that he didn’t pass it until H had been converged on and run out of space..

Didn’t deserve to win but then shouldn’t have lost.

Awful performance.

Was also one of the only players who turned up to play in their losing final. Rapt with the acquisition of Acres and find it foolish to judge him off the back of his first game at a new club.

Simple rule of footy, you have it, control it. Pierce a footy to a one on three doesn’t cut it. Bounce the ball three times in twenty metres with the ears pinned back doesn’t cut it.

I'd does seem that people who were there saw it differently from those who saw it on TV. On TV he looked like he did it very well and Harry slipping over cruelled us.

On TV there was no one to kick it to at the start but you couldn't see the goals after that till he kicked it.

There's no point in selecting a bunch of versatile players and not trying them elsewhere when they're being iced out of the game or tiring.

Hardwick changed the game in the second half by rotating players into different positions.

Voss elected to keep Martin and Fisher in positions they weren't having any impact whatsoever and looked as though they weren't even on the field.

Push Hollands onto a half forward flank. Put Motlop as an ultra attacking player at the drop of the ball. Move Fisher onto a wing. Put Martin into the middle or half back.

They weren't visible and played poor, inactive, football. Neither were helped at all by the coaching. Mots and especially Hollands were solid until they hit the wall.

Honestly Tigers looked way better than us for most of that game. Take the draw and run.

Agree, disappointing to end in a draw given we were 6 points up late but the game was on Richmond terms almost the whole time.

Bolton missed an absolute sitter 30m directly in front, they kicked quite a few OOTF and we just got a fingertip to a few would be goals.

Our midfield lost the battle, Taranto was huge for them and didn't allow us to gain clearance dominance. But our defence held up really well overall.

That would surely be the biggest crowd he has played in front of and it's his first real game for the club. A heap of our players suffered from nerves tonight.

LOB, you are not a rookie anymore. It’s your job to hit a target there! Control, patience ffs
He did! Harry still got two hands on it from the ground. It hits him on the chest if he’s upright, splitting three defenders no less

Takeaways:
We split the points, neither deserved it. So we take ‘em
We looked heavy legged, lacked run & carry
Found a couple of good young’uns
A couple not up to AFL standard - we have replacements for them
Some guns were ordinary
Our backs held up reasonably well considering
Our skills & decision making when trying to close out a game are comical - In a sad clown way.
Need more from our smalls
You’d hope they’ll be better for the run or it’s going to be another long season
Sam Walsh - Get well soon. Real soon.

You‘d think Durdin comes in for Owies, possibly Honey for Martin / Fischer - I’ll back the others to be better

Biggest thing from that game

Backline was immense. Our biggest problem last year was “can we win if we aren’t dominating centre clearance and contested possesions”

We were far from that today and still drew against a side who to be honest did look very impressive.

I think we had an average day from the midfield group and a few stars had questionable games and still found a way to compete. Wouldn’t have been the case last year

Keep ya head up baggers we are building
