Data from footywire. To check the draft order see the thread here.

Footywire says: "While we make every effort to keep up to date with player contracts, it is likely that our data may at times be out of date, incomplete or inaccurate. If you find any player contracts that need updating, please let us know using our brand new contract submission form."

WE have never seen a club with West Coast financial muscle in this position. One might also say the advantage of go home to their state. English would be one ...probably could build a list of similar players over the next three years. I cant see them spending a decade at the bottom rebuilding thru the draft.
Essendon, Carlton and to a lesser extent Adelaide/Hawks of recent years. The mighty have fallen when they get arrogant and complacent. WC are not playing finals till they have a full club clean out, it's not just the players but the whole organization. Too big to fail except on the field where it matters.

Such hyperbole.

Maybe. But it looks rough to me.

What would Liam Ryan's trade value be, is the exact type of player Carlton are desperate for and appears to be one of the few players with any sort of trade value.

Surely WC look to Melbourne to see how interested in getting Reid. With Freo going so badly they could end up with pick 4 or 5 and Melbourne's 2 firsts for this and next year. Play them off with GWS and see what the best deal they can get. They need an injection of 2 or 3 1st rounders a year over the next 2-3 years

Struggle to see how Melbourne get the trade capital.

Freo's 1st is sliding out of the top 10.

Van Rooyen is solid.

1st round picks in the teens won't get it done compared to other likely offers.

Agreed, Freo rising has made it nearly impossible

Issue is alot of these eagles are contracted and locals who do not want to leave the state. Theyre also being paid big dollars still

The only club (Freo) that can help them has no first round pick, thus cant trade out anything except future picks

If eagles are confident in getting English for 2025. Then they should be off loading Tim Kelly, B.Williams and Mcgovern, as theyre the guys that only have worth, maybe Yeo. Gov, Yeo and TK would only go to Freo imo

There is a real opportunity for Fremantle here to attack a flag with some of these eagles and the current playing list they already have. If they can get these eagles for very little then i cant see how its a loss

Disagree with some of your probably nots, SPS and Petch at the least have a strong chance of being b22 in a finals team.

Describing most of those as young maybes is harsh as well, most of them have shown they belong.

Kelly turning 29 but he did start his career late, should have a lot less wear and tear than the typical 29yo eagle.

Youve got blue and gold glasses on if you think highly of SPS

B.Williams has only just started coming good and is young. No way WCE would entertain trading him currently, unless they got a mature ruck in return and Williams himself wanted out.

TK won't go to Freo for some reason, although that was supposedly due to the Hill brothers when he got traded.

Yeo and Gov I'd be ok with trading. Hate to see them go but realistically, they're simply going to be playing in beltings for the rest of their careers, so for their own sake, it might be best for them to look at other opportunities. Especially if they can net us an extra couple of second rounders.

Don't want to lose all the senior heads though. Need someone around to mentor the kids.

Id only let B.Williams go now if your basically 90%+ English is coming for the 2025 year

And your getting a pick inside 30

Gov is a very interesting case being a free agent. Eagles would only want to keep on alot less salary youd hope. They really want another club to come after him to get decent compensation

TK picked the eagles because they had a better $$ deal and also because they were closer to success in his eyes. Nothing to do with Hills

There will still be plenty of Duggan, Hunt, Darling, Gov, Barrass, Cole, Sheed, NicNat, Cripps, TK, Yeo, Allen, L.Ryan, Gaff, J.Jones around as more experienced heads

Yeah, look - maybe?

I don't think Petrucelle plays for any side currently competing for finals. SPS maybe does, but he's probably first dropped when the side has a surprise loss.

I don't either are a usable piece for a rebuilding side.

If they can get those eagles for very little then what benefit do west coast have in trading them? Pretty much all the big deals end next year so all we’d be doing is a favour for Fremantle

I’m not sure what price I’d be comfortable with for getting Yeo. Seems he can’t get on the park and while fully fit is clearly best 22 somewhere, I don’t know if 50-75% of Yeo.

Even if he was free in draft capital I’m not sure I want to be paying 500-700k (or whatever it is) to take more games off Chapman, Johnson and Erasmus or to sit in recovery for 18 rounds of the year

Picks 30-40 would still be very valuable

Points are crucial in moving up the draft board with many more father son/academy picks at the top end again

Also gives a means to getting younger WA locals ooc

Nope, not these days given salary cap space is becoming an increasingly valuable commodity.

Might take the punt for 300k per year if you guys covered the rest, but not having a bar of his full contract.
Think West Coast would have to pay a decent portion of all these contracts

That was part of the point and depending how much determines how good a pick they get
