He has an antisocial attitude which was enabled by north being such a s**t cultured club that allowed him to behave in a totally unacceptable manner repeatedly before casting him adrift It isn’t a case of him keeping his nose clean for a bit either, he has been socialised in a certain way and any seeming good behaviour would merely be a mask hiding his true nature. The guy needs a whole bunch of reconditioning and is a high risk acquisition Don’t care how good a player he may be, having someone with those traits is dangerous and a clear sign to anyone they don’t value women

I don't know enough about the situation to comment except to say that if blokes are talented enough and perform well enough they get extra chances. A couple of years starring in the WAFL and someone will take a punt. Hopefully he sorts his demons out and earns another chance.

As a club we talk a lot about make players better people - a bit redundant if we only recruit players who are already better people.

I love a redemption story. Hopefully this kid becomes one.

I don't know enough about the situation to comment except to say that if blokes are talented enough and perform well enough they get extra chances. A couple of years starring in the WAFL and someone will take a punt. Hopefully he sorts his demons out.

Your comment highlights the difference with this guy. It was a good natured thing to say, genuinely wanting good for him, despite what has happened. Evidence demonstrates he doesn’t think like you and his processes are another type altogether

I was listening when he started on this ramble.. I mistakenly thought he may say something interesting or enlightening.

I think it's pretty straight forward - we'll try to have another trade period like last year. Hill, McStay and Mitchell on the cheap. An oldie like Mitchell and a McStay standard free agent shouldn't be too hard to do. The oldies are going cheap - see Adams. Another Bobby on the cheap is not so easy.

They needed two of him yesterday. He started well down back and it all unraveled once he was moved forward. I doubt we shake him loose, but I think it’s off field rather than on that will buckle at the Roos. For some reason they’ve got an amazing track record of retaining talent.

Jeez I felt sorry for Biggie Nyoun. He didn't look VFL standard.

I doubt any of us have enough knowledge on Thomas to do a psych profile.

It’s clear we are well down the path of Bailey Smith
If we really want to turbo charge our list regeneration especially in midfield, then adding Tarryn Thomas with Smith would be a long way to that.

Of course Thomas known issues and fitting in culturally will need to pass the test but you all get what I mean

Talent wise yes, but in every other respect, a big NO.

He's wasted at North, and he's exactly the type of midfielder we need.
In a better side, he'd be a (bigger) gun.

Try and pull off what Geelong did with Stengle?

Feel like he’s got more then enough class and talent (as a player) to make it worthwhile given he’d cost us almost literally f**k all

Stengle's issue was not even remotely similar to Thomas'.

Plenty of players have had drug incidents/issues & continue to play & play well.

Thomas' issues are completely different. Why would anyone think having that bloke in our club would be a positive?

If he's that good a footballer, let North take him back when his suspension or whatever it is, is over.

Guaranteed they wouldn't touch him either. And they need a good footballer more than we do.

Phillips can’t get a game in a rock bottom North side so he’s definitely gettable

If we were to bring him in, I think I would trust the club in it's decision. Ultimately, non of us know everything, so I imagine the club would do it's due diligence

Who cares if he's for free. There are plenty of good reasons why he is.

I'd prefer he be some other club's experiment/problem if they want to risk it.
