Lippy, Pendles, Crisp and N.Daicos were a few the Pies needed to step up tonight - around midfield and driving the Pies forward. A couple of mistakes aside they've answered the call (so far).

There's something about Carlton, you just know they're no real chance of winning the flag this year.
Why? They have all the tools. They are certainly in the windows for the next few years.
GF's are difficult to win, ask Port, ask Lions, ask GWS.
But Blues have the team.

Schultz got his goal and will probably take it easy the rest of the game.

As long as our 3rd-7th forwards are bottom 4 standard this will happen.

Swarm Harry and Charlie and the rest takes care of itself.

Need Martin and Motlop in who demand respect and are somewhat dangerous, but they can also get stuffed for constantly being injured or unfit.

Interesting game so far.

Carlton's pressure looked pretty great first quarter and Collingwood just looked really fumbly and making a lot of really weird decisions.

Then Collingwood's ball movement started firing, Carlton were making more errors and couldn't handle the additional speed on the game.

That quarter felt like Collingwood last year. How sustainable is it?

No one else in the sheds due to injuries. Though I'm not sure how Kemp got dropped ahead of Young, assuming it's purely due to Cox/Cameron's height but still.

Isn’t Marchbank available for one? What about that running defender you have drafted a few years ago name is escaping me

Cool fact:

This year, Orazio Fantasia is averaging two possessions a quarter.
