I think he's been at the club longer than the rest of the starting eleven save for Cucurella? I agree he shouldn't be captain but he was the 4th choice last season for whatever reason so I guess he keeps it for now.

Would prefer someone else have it though. Probably would need to be Cucu.

Palace's pre-season was far from ideal, with Lerma and Munoz playing in the Copa America final, Mateta in the Olympic final only 2 weeks ago, Andersen and the four English players involved deep into the Euros.

Glaser commenting that players were filtering back one by one, Mateta the last only a week ago.

It reflected in our lack lustre performance last night and of course Eze's disallowed free kick goal didn't help, we shouldn't have been beaten.

The Ref made a howler and has since admitted it himself. Was his PL debut, thanks very much.

Amazing that the ref admits he made a mistake, pundits saying he should have blown later, but Bradesmaen is the LOTG expert who thinks they're all wrong.
