I think the only way this award can get in the bin where it belongs is if fans stop wishing, or caring that, a player from their team wins it.

It's widely regarded as a joke but unfortunately it still gets all the ratings etc. because fans keep tuning in every year, clinging on to that little bit of hope that their favourite player will win it.

Is the Brownlow now farked because there are too many umpires? The Brownlow is now perhaps one of the least prestigious awards. Umpiring this year has been shite and it’s been extended to their Brownlow votes. 45 @and 38 votes is showing how devalued it has come.
