There is a world where he could be the third tall/ spare defender if he got regular opportunity.
Try him forward let him play for the ball

He wouldn't fit in our forward line, he can mark above his head. There is a world where he could be the third tall/ spare defender if he got regular opportunity.

Tomlinson?Still waiting on his contact extension. Maybe we're waiting for someone else to be delisted before we commit?
I'm thinking someone like Marchbank or DGB who are not yet delisted. Seeing what happens to themTomlinson?
lol that would require the club to do some “recruiting”Tomlinson?
He's been tried forward and he looked as natural a fit as I would in the front row of a chorus line. There is a world where he could be the third tall/ spare defender if he got regular opportunity.

I reckon that's an updgrade as a depth player than FrancisTomlinson?
Cochrane is a little different. Don't pigeon hole him as a KPD. He may have played there. Has other qualities as an athlete that allow him to get out on a wing too. Maybe more Blakey than McCartin.Heading into next year we already have McCartin, Melican, Rampe, Hamling, Edwards, Snell and Cochrane to play KPD / Interceptor. There are promising tall defenders available in the draft. We also have Mills and Blakey available to play 3rd tall in defence if required.
With 4 national draft selections available but only currently 3 senior list spots free, I favour de-listing Francis to free up the 4th spot. I think it's clear Francis is as good as he will ever be, which is clearly not up to the level and its time to replace him with someone who potentially has a higher ceiling.
Won't get into the side as a winger with Errol McInerney and a stack load of flankers there. Just because he is quick doesn't mean he should be on the wing especially if his ball use is horrificCochrane is a little different. Don't pigeon hole him as a KPD. He may have played there. Maybe not next year. In time things change. So do players. Lots of options for him.Won't get into the side as a winger with Errol McInerney and a stack load of flankers there. Just because he is quick doesn't mean he should be on the wing especially if his ball use is horrific
No i just don't believe Sydney are penny pinchers i think they are going to trade 44 to WCE for an F2 next year or to Adelaide for two of their F3s they haveMaybe not next year. In time things change. So do players. Lots of options for him.
You are very defensive tonight.

The lack of pace is an interesting one. I think it's his initial acceleration that is lacking but his closing speed is actually very quick. Gerard Healy actually mentioned his speed in the commentary and I did notice a couple of times he was actually coming in hot when reaching a few contests. He definitely looked the most mobile I've ever seen him.In fairness, Francis rarely gets beaten 1-on-1. He’s got strength, good bodywork & is bloody tough to be beat in the air.
Lack of pace will always be a limiting factor & he’s not a great kick - but if McCartin stays forward, he becomes more important to the squad.
I watched the GC game. It was the most interested in footy that I've seen Frank for years. I really hope he's got that spirit back. The potential player he could be is outstanding.McVeigh in the post match said he'd had the best pre season of his career and it definitely showed, was just that half step closer to his opponent all night and covered the ground really well.
