An interesting article. Anyone accepting a pardon

According to the landmark Supreme Court case Burdick v. United States (1915)
"carries an imputation of guilt and acceptance of a confession of it."

I don't think cost of living has much to do with what's going on (only for some people). I think that's an answer people give when they don't know how explain the so called cultural shift that they despise and trump vows to reverse.

Same thing is happening here. People are angry at something and when you ask them what it is and how it's affecting their life they can't really answer it.

It certainly feels like some percentage of the appeal of Trump is that he promises to hurt the people his fans don't like, and that at least feels like it will be satisfying for them. Much the same way that a lot on the other side would get a lot of satisfaction from Trump facing consequences for his crimes. Although I would argue this is more reasonable than attacks on Fauci, immigrants, trans people etc...

The cruelty is the point to some degree.

But also .. a quick reminder .. Elmo's maternal grandparents were card carrying Nazi's and moved from Canada to South Africa because of their admiration of the apartheid regime

Haha people and family are complicated. Elon's father was involved in anti-apartheid politics at some point although was awful in just about every other way you can think of.

There is a long history of people saying or doing things that could plausibly be explained as harmless, but to the intended group it is very clear the message being sent. Regardless of Elon's intent I'm sure there is a group that will be very excited by what he did.

There is no surprise as to the people defending it. He knows his audience.

Even he has edited it out of his own video.

Edit - there is also no such thing as a Roman salute.

If it walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck

Everyone around the world should be upset with that. It is literally a fascist salute.

Now he is going to be running the DOGE.

Can someone please enlighten me as to how spending billions, probably trillions, on going to Mars is an efficient use of public money?

If he wants SpaceX to go to Mars, fund it your bloody self!
