Wing probably Docherty or Binns.Howdy Blues fans, apologies for the intrusion. I'm writing my season preview and have a query – which of Haynes/Jack Silvagni is likely to be the first choice to partner Weitering in defence? If I remember correctly, there was some debate about whether Haynes was big enough to be a "true" KPD. Has pre-season and the early match sims settled the debate in either direction?
Oh – and who's likely to take the wing opposite Acres? Would Jagga get some time there?
Could be either with McGovern in the mix toowhich of Haynes/Jack Silvagni is likely to be the first choice to partner Weitering in defence
Seems Docherty is the frontrunnerand who's likely to take the wing opposite Acres?

What did he do that makes you think he looks likely? All the usual suspects summing it up better than this punter, but what I will say is how super impressive a couple of the boys were:
- Fantasia is as good as he was when he burst Into the AFL for the Scum, easily the quickest out there, charged off out ahead in every sprint
- Motlop was everywhere
- McMahon looks likely
- Jagga will win our next Brownlow (sorry Walshie, and I've backed him to win a Charlie for $500 with a Filth mate over a five year time frame which culminates this season!!)
What did you think of Williams? He was a little concerning to me. Just small things like consistently handballing behind the guy running by while under little pressure. Just seems off.Ok my notes player by player for those unable to attend:
- SOS looked the best he has by miles down back. Slotting in nicely. His ball use off both feet really open up play out of the back half and his smarts and effort are terrific.
- Cowan was solid didn’t really notice him.
- Motlop is in the best shape of his life. For example in the run drills at the end of training he did not get “dropped” like he has in the past. He’s a ball of muscle and agile as hell. Put him down for 35 with a sprinkling of on ball time.
- Ollie continues to bother me with his ball use out of the back half. I’m sure he will play there for round one as he’s been there all preseason.
- Williams looks superb. Moving better than I’ve ever seen. Looks strong fit and fast. Big year ahead.
- Jagga Smith, in a word: EXQUISITE. He is projecting to 25+ a game and I think of those he will try and evade like 15+ times a game. And maybe get caught twice. He just REALLY breaks up play with his feet. Remarkable player.
- Crippa is just no change. Rinse repeat.
- Harry will have a great year.
- Mitch is mitch
- Tom has def lost cardio fitness compared to same time last year. Today Lemmey was doing in the big man runs what TDk was doing last year. Not worried but possibly a slower start for Tom this year.
- Acres is back
- Raz looks better than he’s ever looked to me. Winning the repeat sprints. Moving fantastic. No sign of modified duties for him at all. A lock if he stays uninjured.
- Doc is back to career best. Awesome
- Ben was on crutches (ankle?)
- Kemp was fine.
- Walsh must have put the best running session together I’ve ever seen at the club. Flying. No issues at all. Side benefit of the hamstring is he’s really been working on his left foot and it shows.
- Durdi I didn’t notice
- Lij!!!!! Holy shit. Fitness has lifted a lot past two months. Looks a bit quicker and stronger. The strut is out in full force. He knows he’s very good.
- Lucas I like what I am seeing. He’s not standing out. That’s a good thing! Doesn’t look out of place at all. I think a couple of years in the vfl and we have one here.
- HOF I didn’t really pay attention to
- Weiterinf looks more agile, more lean, stronger, like dominant awesome awesome.
- Binns looks a great backup
- Heynes solid as per usual
- Pitto is a vfl ruckman
- Charleston I didn’t notice
- Hewett great. Really good. Tough to displace him.
- Charlie was great and looked like Charlie until injury
- Lemmey was good
- Wilson was ok
- Lord was ok didn’t do as much as in the past but nothing bad
- Saad was terrific and has had a great preseason
- Moir did nothing and may have been injured towards the end?
- Cotts terrific and will be in the round one side
Mitch is Mitch
Couldn't really put my finger on what exactly, but he did take on Weiters and beat him on one memorable occasion, he didn't look out of place, and we need some versatility other than JSOS. He wouldn't be a wasted pick, and believe me we've made an art out of the "wasted pick"...........don't get me started

Great summary windows.Ok my notes player by player for those unable to attend:

Not in my opinion no. Not a walk up start. I’ve got a lot of faith in his future though.Great summary windows.
Sounds like Moir will need to step up and show a bit more to earn a spot and is not a walk up start for R1?
I thought he was good and has become a very predictable player. He is not good on big guys but if played on a mid sized forward can really dominate. I love his quick ball movement and kicking off both feet out of the backline. Big fan.I’d love to know what you mean by this.
I’m probably in the minority around here and think he is more of a liability down back.
He makes way too many big mistakes to play in the backline IMO.
I actually don’t mind the idea of him returning to the forward line.
His football stuff never worries me. When it’s time he knows what he’s doing. What did you think of Williams? He was a little concerning to me. Just small things like consistently handballing behind the guy running by while under little pressure. Just seems off.

I thought he looked super fit and strong and moved great and that was massively encouraging to me.

Think he might just be worth banging on about.Jeez those 3 goals had great ball movement
Don’t wanna bang on about him but Jagga was involved in two. He’s very fast thinking and clever. He reads the play 2 seconds faster than everyone else and it’s noticeable
