If Camporeale isn't the sub I am 100% fielding him. Should score well on the wing against Richmond.

All the other rookies that play later on the weekend could end up being the sub. I don't want to risk that.
A pretty sensible strategy i think.

If we go Taylor who are we dropping him for in 2-3 weeks?

Say he gets to 650ish, I can’t really see an exit strategy that isn’t already playing. Ie. Prior. His own price increase will dilute any gains made on Taylor.

So it has to be someone currently not playing (or losing value), and will be available or bottomed out next week or the week after.

Is it crazy to pick Taylor but field Trainor over him?
No it isn't. I am currently considering Taylor in the utility spot. Would allow me to trade him to any player I want next week (likely a rookie I missed that pops a good score). It is an expensive thing to do, but the added cash you get from him and the flexibility of going to basically any player you want next week is very tempting.

I have bitten the bullet and selected Leake at Utility over like a Boxshall (may still trade Langford for Boxshall in the midfield though).

While I'm concerned Leake could end up becoming a red dot, his versatility is promising.

Selecting Leake at Utility allows me to trade Taylor to anyone next week. It could be the rookie that pops the most, it could be one of the 400k guys in the midfield - NOD, Knevitt or Sheldrick, it could even be to a mid priced guy that pops like SDK, Freijah, Docherty, Peatling etc.

"Oh crystal ball, is this man crazy?"

Fair. So Taylor is just a holding pattern to get the right guy in?

Because whoever it is will have gone up possibly 30k on their own for us to even be considering them next week.

So ~70k net profit plus a trade to get the right guy, or take a punt on one of them straight away and they could make that same cash plus you keep them for longer.

I moved the Sanders cash (Davidson on field) to get it done and I’m not sure about it. Does allow me to have most of the value mids in plus Dawson and Rozee.

Some commentary stated that there may have been a role change for Taylor, so will be interesting to see if he is becoming a more intercept defender rather than a lock down defender. So it could be a case of holding onto him if his role has changed and also benefiting from the price increase. Hind Sight will be a big winner with this one.

Question for the backline - besides Sheez, who is the must have Defender? Everyone keeps talking about Holmes is he D2?

That's right. The value is both in the actual cash, maybe 70-100k depending on Taylor's score, but most importantly the flexibility to be able to grab the right guy. With Taylor's price, as well as the potential cash from a second trade you can almost grab any player. The argument against it would be, if you want NOD or Docherty or SDK just get them now, but this way you get a look at all of them and are able to grab the best of them in any position, as well as avoiding any risk that the guy you select gets injured and loses cash (even if Taylor gets injured he still makes money).

Literally nobody to lock down in the demons forward line so should play a similar role.

If they have nobody theyre more likely to just get one of their forwards to play a defensive role imo

Hopefully they dont, but something to consider

Im seeing a lot of teams with no Lalor. What have I missed? I currently have him on field over Ashcroft because as much i dont want it to happen, there is a good chance Ashcroft wears the vest.

Is it because of the jaw injury?

Will play primarily as a third tall / lead up small forward with short bursts through the midfield, ala De Goey maybe? Ceiling is probably 65 points or so this season. Rookies with better roles at cheaper prices.

Going to go Gawn over TDK.
Hoping that TDK is just a neutral option - priced 85-90, so if he shares some ruck duties and maxes out at 100, he won't be that damaging scoring or cash wise.

Downgrading Sanders to Garcia to fund it, which should be a similar scoring output (and more cash gained from Garcia).

Which cheaper mid rookies do you think have a better role, and are unlikely to be a sub risk, other than Camporeale?
Genuinely interested because I've just downgrade Rankine to Sanders to get some of the more expensive rookies in because they feel safer...

Im still going with him tbh. I already have Camporeale, Ashcroft, O'Sullivan, Reid (Freo). Dont know what other rookie id trust.
Maybe Draper. But hes still an unlocked character/doesn't have a photo yet so its a no from me

Cheaper than Lalor with better roles? O'Sullivan, Camporeale, Boxshall, Langford, Lindsay, Reid, Ashcroft I would all preference over Lalor personally.
