Missed the second half, except for the last minute on the radio.

How bad was Starcevich's head knock?

Wasn’t a big hit which is concerning. 3 concussions in 11 games.

Send word to the WCE Board Mr Briz.

Now that was a very impressive victory. Would have been disappointed with a loss, but it wouldn't have been overly unexpected or tough to swallow given the circumstances (as long as it was relatively close)

On paper we looked stronger on every line, but we were playing away against a team who actually played last week, and had both the additional motivation of a loss last week & the grand final humiliation.

Then when you add the additional losses of personnel, well, I'll take that one every day of the week. That was a biggie.

Chuffed big time.

My Kayo was also rubbish. The close up appear to be okay but anything further away it appears to have a slight shudder.
Pretty hard to follow properly actually. My daughter with younger eyes was of the same opinion.

I checked my speed. It was 52 download and 19 upload while running Kayo on HD, and i am the only one in the house.
The same on Thursday and Friday night although i found that broadcast slightly better.
Lucky i only have 3 Saturday Lions games to go but that's 2 months subscription.
I have to clear cache on the Kayo app pretty regularly otherwise the streaming performance becomes terrible. Not sure if that’s the cause of your issues but maybe worth a look. Apart from any streaming issues I thought the camera work was pretty terrible

Well apart from the injuries that was great. First half such a good feeling to watch missed tackles, missed targets, missed set shots, fumbles, dropped marks etc, and instead of freaking out just chuckle and think yeah whatever. Then second half watch the boys dig in and grind out the win! Fantastic!

My Kayo has always been excellent? Two different houses now. It runs less well through my android TV but through Apple Tv is superb. 4K looking fantastic too.

The injuries suck, but at least we have the win. I've been very critical of Bailey last year but he had a blinder today, as did Zorks and Dunkley. I'm glad we have the depth to cover all the injuries.

McKenna could be a Linc McCarthy selfless small forward type if he could find an appetite to tackle but I'd probably shift him down back to cover for Starce next week

Charlie should be back but we might need a new sub
I thought McKenna showed signs of his best. He broke the lines on a number of occasions and had some valuable goal assists. Would be good to see him run into a patch of his best form. Fort and Answerth were solid too, as was Payne. Lester did some good things and both Ashcrofts, particularly Levi, played well. It was a solid team effort, with Dunkley, Berry, Zorko, Bailey, Wilmot and McInerney really standing up to get us over the line.

McLachlan sub imo.

We were very rusty and will need to improve a lot by the Cats game in round 3.
I think we ended up being lucky that the Cats game was not our first, and now to be played in round 3.
It's good we have a home game against the Eagles in between.
This should now give us a chance to be 3-0 or 2-1 to start the season.

We got the 4 points which is the important thing against a team that played in the GF, so a box ticked for that.

In the end it was a gutsy win with two players injured during the game being Lohmann in the 1st & Starch 3 minutes into the 4th.
Loosing Charlie before the game did not help. The club knew he was a possible out, so not something they did not plan for.
Neale did not handle the tag and will now get one the next two weeks for sure.
Lucky Dunkley stepped up big time to be BOG.
Life without Joe was noticeable and i expect Day plays next week.

Credit to the coaches' box with some changes that helped get the win.
Fletchers game was well down and moving him was a good move. Not that he did well in defense, but it enabled Zorko and a few others to line up on the wing and move forward when needed.

The club will make Starch health a priority and he plays when everyone thinks he is ready.
Lohmann cross fingers as in the replays it did not show anything obvious.

Also, even though the free kick count was close (+3 Sydney), there were extended passages in the game where the umpires were giving them EVERYTHING. It really stood out in the third and final quarters. Some very one sided adjudicating.

Fages in his press conference said they won’t know extent of Kai’s injury until they get it scanned. Not optimistic it’s only a one or two weeker but hope I’m wrong.
Moon boot may be a precaution and doesn’t necessarily mean it is a bad injury. Fingers crossed.

Honestly I don’t think the umpiring was one sided at all; those passages you mentioned definitely happened but there were just as many questionable frees we got.

I think it was just a super inconsistent massively over umpired game. Less of that for the rest of the season you’d hope, for our sanity’s sake.

Through my LG TV it’s normally excellent. Through my iPad and iPhone last night it would play 3 mins then audio would stop and video start stuttering - but I think this is my sons fault for stealing 80% of our bandwidth. We’re on a 100/40 NBN plan.

Without disrespecting any opposition I'm glad we're playing WC next week after a gut buster in humid conditions ,being just about out on our feet at the end but still had the composure to guts it out.

When Zorks went to Berry in the back pocket near the end it was a no brainer looking at the clock , he executed the kick well and Berry was in great position. Papley came from nowhere and managed to not give away a free so it just shows how careful and meticulous you have to be in those closing minutes if you're trying to ice the game.

The SCG seems to lend itself to lots of free kicks being paid .

Levi off to a quicker start than his brother, against a good opposition as well. Can’t wait to see what he can do this season.

Not live and the game started at 5 .

Absolutely pathetic from 7 mate .

Great win though but I felt a bit sick seeing Starc go down again .

Hope it’s not a long term problem that would be devastating ,
