That half has to be pretty much exactly the blueprint for Laird playing in defence. He has been excellent.

Peatling very good also, easily his best game to date. Rankine probably best on.

Bit sloppy in a few areas but clearly the better team.

I'm not watching, how has he been excellent? Has he beat his player, prevented goals etc?

I see he has 20 disposals, for two score involvements and 57m gained.

Can't think of any instances personally. Half his possessions have been intercepts, half of them have also been contested, the others have mostly been part of handball chains in the back half.

The role is clearly to collect the ball and give it off to the stronger kickers coming out of defence, which he's done very well.
