I’d give King a couple of weeks at Sandy to see if he’s learned to lead.
It’s a bit of a different Saints side now from when he last played.

He can't lead at the opponent's midfielders.

Can you imagine if he gets injured at Sandy trying to change direction at an errant kick from a 19 year old who should be playing B Grade ammos? Oh, the outrage!

King fit = King Saints.

Maybe LOC (if fit) to play on a GWUS tall? His speed, attack on the ball and height could be important.

Just on the Collard/Butler discussion. In the first qtr when the ball was moving at its quickest Lance had 4 crucial possessions, including being robbed of a goal that not only wasn't touched but the goal umpire had absolutely no bloody idea from that far away, both in terms of vision or sound, to make that call.

LC took possession cleanly at speed and placed it nicely for our forwards to move on to it. Butler is not consistent with his dinky kicking or decision making in general and can't kick goals from 40 metres. Not saying he isn't important, only that he has to wait.

And that's a good problem to have.

Collard led pressure acts on the weekend

He’s become the better player imo - his added goal threat and creativity massively outweighs Butler’s extra bit of pressure

Until Collard has a form dip, Butler will just have to bide his time at VFL level imo

I always assumed Max was instructed to play deeper. In the Richmond game at Norwood last year, he basically didn’t leave the 20m radius and Miller gave him an ass whoopin. Coupled with our movement inside 50 and skills in the past, no wonder he couldn’t get easier ball 😆

My feeling is we'd like to get Butler and Collard in the side. Massive pressure and danger around goals.

Don't ask me how we do that though.

He doesn't need to be at Sandy to get injured and some want him to play if 50 % , If a bloke gets injured every time he changes direction id suggest football is not for him

If King is 90 percent fit he’s in. VFL have a bye this week anyway. Hoping at worst he’s a “test” for this week, eagerly awaiting the injury report tonight.

When King comes back I want him up the ground.

Get him in the ruck more, leading across the ground, being used as a switch option from D50 rather than the down the line dump kick...

Weve seen how much better we play when he's not the focal point at FF.

He needs to be less NRoo and more JRoo IMO

Get him playing the Joe Daniher role. Freedom between the ruck, wing and forward line. He will find more space in the forward line as well if he isn't a sitting duck. Also means he can impact a game if he doesn't kick 3+.

The aspect I most love about Hall, and he has many good qualities, is that he is so quick to make good decisions AND to then quickly act on that decision, and to act on it well.

I want to add a caveat to that - he doesn't rush to make the decision. He'll pause for a second to assess the options and seems to always choose the right one. He's not afraid to hang onto the footy a little while longer, but also has enough awareness not to get caught Raph Clarke style.

He has very impressive traits. If he can just lift his production a bit he'll be undroppable. An 18 possession per game Max Hall is a 2 goals scored, 2 goal assist player

Yes agree, part of him being a good decision making is taking the extra time to make the right decision when needed. Or to change options.

You see this from Sincs. Often you will see Sincs commence a handball to go to one player, but he switches to another player when he assesses that is a better option.

Both are players who do not simply dish the ball off to the nearest team mate, unless it good to do so. As sometimes the nearest may have am opponent ready to tackle.
