I am not sure that's an issue Surrey. Cripps Docherty Weitering etc spend a lot of time with younger players. They have dinners, catch ups, extra training all the time. IMO our senior group and how they integrate and support younger players is very good and I have seen that first hand

Moir, as an example, is getting lots of support. He has actually improved. Issue is he's such a long way off it
Gee I would be asking who has Moir sought out to help improve his deficiencies and fitness.

If he’s serious about improving it’s up to him to reach out and put the effort in, there is no shortage of senior players willing to help like Walsh, Cripps, Weiters etc.

Even Jagga Smith had the maturity as a 17/18 year old to get help to improve his fitness before he was even recruited and it showed in his U18 games. Moir might have an endurance issue that he needs to work on - but I don’t believe the Luke Power or the club wouldn’t be trying to help him.

Let's make a "block" of games = 3 games

Apart from Hollands and Cowan, maybe I'm missing something but I'm pretty confident Binns, Moir, Lord and L Camporeale have not played 3 consecutve games (and while I'm in a generous mood, I'll even include sub)

I could be wrong but I don't think those 4 players have
"but if they struggle"

Worse still, there are supporters who been duped into this hogwash about fixed positions

Madness and ignorance. Any good player can play mutiple positions if used and trained for it in the right structure

Very easy to say someone "can't" especially when never having a serious go or being trained for it

I remember in 95 people saying Williams is too slow and can't play forward

Sam Mitchell has spoken about this a lot. In a team, players must be adapatable and be able to play several roles. He trains his players to do this. It's no fluke

Exactly right. Any coach with a half a (coaching) brain would develop them to rotate that way

This is why I never buy into the rubbish that player X can only play one position.

They are not coached, drilled, developed or given opportunities to be part of a multi-layered structure

A win tomorrow is akin to the Jayne Mansfield poster covering the hole in the wall at Shawshank Prison. The cracks were gone a long time ago

You never know, McQualter et al may be ready to throw some pebbles right through that "wall"
Demons must have poor development given Viney and Oliver only play through the middle

Crouch, Dunkley, Mitchell, Worpel, Atkins, Knevitt, Rowell, Anderson, Green, etc, etc

Unfortunately, unlike most side, we have mids that don't have the versatility to be effective elsewhere and when we did, we traded him to the Dogs

I understand the negativity on here but from an optimistic point of view

Charlie, Harry, & Kemp are clearly a far better combination of tall forwards than anything we have put out this year.

White, Durdin & Motlop have the potential to be a high quality group of small forwards - just hope none of them are the sub.

Cottrell will at least give every ounce of effort he has and Williams at his best could give us some real run and dare off half back.

Hopefully we can just get a win, get the monkey off the back and start building some confidence and momentum

Geez even a win won't quiet the angry mob won't it.

Damned either way
No I dont think so...

Id say most of us want to see us play good football first and foremost

However, winning is important too - for moral confidence etc

So a win would be most welcome but if we start this game well and then all away in the second half (like we've been doing so far this season) then I'd say the current status quo will be maintained.
