A huge thanks to Mr Michael's Tigercast and crew-your regular tiger reports are extremely appreciated 👏 and it's never to be forgotten how u guys during the horrible COVID LOCKDOWN TIMES
Gave us all hope-it felt like a gathering of mates talking about our common love of RFC-u played a huge roll in getting us through.
Thank u.View attachment 2286158
Thx Mrs Michaels 😘😉

I'm actually very happy with the inclusions. Our team already relies upon Lalor for his clean ball use and decision making. Our forwards must have demanded his inclusion! Balta is our best backman. We look much stronger with him in the team allowing Miller, Broad and Trainor more freedom to peel off their weaker opponents.

Ryan is the contentious one - he's been very poor at AFL level of late; dropping marks, making poor choices with ball in hand and being worthless in the forwardline, completely lacking confidence and physicality.
Then he went to the VFL.
At VFL level, he was marking everything, a powerful aggressive forward target, he had a presence which radiated confidence, he was a reliable goal scorer.
Given his on-going form in the 2nd, Ryan has well and truly earned another shot. I hope it can relate to his AFL form. For me, Ryan just needs to believe he deserves to be in the team and plays with the same aggression he did at VFL level and we just may of found our second ruck afterall :praying:

MRJ and McIntosh probably make for Smillie and Mansell. Fawcett could come in for Ryan as well. We tried rucking blight from the back half, wonder if we try the same with Balta given he is more experienced etc
Be interesting to see who makes way for those 2 when they come into the 23. Ryan is a genuine ruck/forward option, play him in that role. Balta needs to be left in D50 and become the leader of that group that we need him to be moving forward.

Ryan poor you must be watching something else. Last week vs Bris 23pos 16 kicks, 9 Marks 1goal 3.

Ok Mr Moderator.. I think we have found Ryan's alt account.
I know he goes ok in the Vfl, but that is his level.
He has not shown anything, in any senior game, yet we gave him three years..
While on the list, if someone performs, they should be rewarded.

Did you read my message - I said he has been poor at AFL level but brilliant at VFL level. He well and truly deserves another chance in the team, whether he keeps it is completely up to him though. Confidence and aggression is the key.

I apologise, but most people simply assume that he is poor. Haha. Hope he goes well

Blight didn’t have a lot of the ball the last two weeks. He can do with a week’s rest.

Miller had a great game against Brisbane but a shocker against Fremantle. That’s probably why Blight got dropped instead of him.

Going by numbers, not really fussed with Blight’s omission

Blight is the better athlete, Miller monstered last week by a good player but yeah didn't expect that.
Imo Blight has the potential to be a better player but obviously they think Miller has the runs on the board.
Who is actually the better KPD as a stopper: Blight or Miller? I’m not sure.

I agree with others that I think Ryan in is to adress our ruck issues when Nank goes off the ground. We are a different side when Nank is rucking and no matter who we try as the second ruck our team struggles and becomes more vulnerable during these periods.

Yze might have experimented with the one ruck strategy to start the season and now might be looking changes this aspect to see if we are better for it.

Blighty has been fantastic, he'll be back.
and in no way is ryan any better than blight. its a terrible decision, ryan is not worth a packet of peanuts on the feild

Fans cry out that we need to strengthen the side, we do that and people still not happy.

If fans want us picking our 2 best key defenders when fit then Balta & Miller should be picked every time. Playing all 3 of Balta Miller & Blight down back doesn't work and would mean Trainor gets impacted more than anyone else.

As much as Blight gives his all when he plays, he is a KPD, that's where he plays his best footy and the experiment of playing him as a ruck/forward hasn't worked. He has had a limited impact inside F50 and doesn't really have the understanding of the ruck role to be truly effective in that role either. So send him back to the VFL allow him to play back in D50 and get back to developing his craft down there.

Ryan for better or worse is our 2nd best ruckman and his form to start the season in the VFL as a ruck/forward has been consistent and deserving of a call up. Picking him to support both Nankervis in the ruck and Lynch up forward eases the burden on both of them and allows Faull to get a 3rd string defender instead of the number 2 option.

As for Sonsie v Lalor, well that's a no contest.

So we've strengthened out best 23 and with the likes of Mansell & Smillie in the mix to come into the side over the next couple of weeks, we're only going to have more of these selection nights where fan favourites make way for players that make the 23 stronger and that's what you want as a developing/rebuilding side.
I actually thought that blight helped provide a more robust structure in f50 that avoided oppo talking a shit tone of intercepts , helped us v lions and for a while v freo

Ryan... he's got all he needs, except for that bit of horrible nasty bloke (aka Nank) that big, good footy players need. That sneaky want to hurt people. Not sure it can be developed. Can be functional without it, but never really excel?

Ryan and Dow got destroyed in round 0 last year.

I don’t rate Ryan at all. He is a massive liability with his lack of pace/agility and his constant dropping of marks at critical moments. If he spuds it up on Saturday I’ll be extremely disappointed if he isn’t immediately dropped.

You can talk Ryan’s VFL form up all you want but in the same game (round 3) Sims also kicked a goal and had 17 disposals / 10 hitouts. But the big difference was Sims had 6 tackles and Ryan had 0.

At least the VFL will be exciting tomorrow night with Smillie and McAuliffe running on ball.

As crazy as it sounds, I believe it's a game we could win but we won't because we will believe that's a game we have already lost.

but if we bring the effort & intensity, I reckon it's a game the Suns could drop they will be expecting an easy win.
