Another big challenge for us this Sunday—one we strangely go into as heavy favourites, which probably doesn’t reflect the reality.
Carlton comfortably accounted for us the last time we met—dominated in the ruck and midfield, which opened the door for easy scores up forward. They're expected to be at full strength this week with McKay back in the side, and with Jack Henry
still out, that likely means SDK stays down back—so any thoughts of resting Stanley may have to wait.
Miers is a big loss. His running power and link-up play are central to how we move the ball.
Carlton coming off a nine-day break, and our depth—particularly through the midfield and defence—being stretched thin. It feels like this is the sort of game Carlton will really get up for as they’ll want to prove themselves against a top side after two soft wins.
Not the worst time for a Chris Scott
masterclass. We’ll need it. Expect Danger to spend more time in the middle to match Carlton’s bigger bodies, and Blicavs feels like the natural matchup for Cripps.
Mullin seems like the perfect matchup for Saad to negate his run and dash off half-back.
Should be a cracking game!
