This is not new Maxy - you know that. Not sure how a club catches the Bergs. Looks to be borderline stupid now. They bringing in under 19s from opposition now as well.

Don't believe eveything you read and hear mate, especially from that knucklehead, probably time to give up the cheap shots an snide remarks regarding H'Berg, you're not as close as you think. This is not new Maxy - you know that.
No cheap shots from me re the Bergs - have long stated very well run, organised and successful club that ALL would look too as how you create success.Don't believe eveything you read and hear mate, especially from that knucklehead, probably time to give up the cheap shots a snide remarks regarding H'Berg, you're not as close as you think.
Do you really think clubs should be aiming to run like that to create success? How many rumours are true? i don't know but if they are paying Reserves, 19's, etc is that really something to aim to?No cheap shots from me re the Bergs - have long stated very well run, organised and successful club that ALL would look too as how you create success.
Anything I suggest/mention would be from first hand knowledge only, not third party.

Good news is that the Bergs played at 37/46 points yesterday - Plenty of room for 2 or 3 of their listed VFL players as requiredNo cheap shots from me re the Bergs - have long stated very well run, organised and successful club that ALL would look too as how you create success.

Basically besides the Berg we have an extremely even comp with plenty of clubs playing locals and a genuine chance to knock each other off every week. Some of the things you hear seem over the top for mine.
So you are paying under the salary capI’m pretty sure we started the rumour about twos players getting paid because it was funny that people actually believed it. I was treasurer for 4 years and secretary for 5 or 6 and no reserves player ever got paid, with the exception of one season when one of our generous sponsors gave the 5 best players from each round $50 each ($250 in total for 18 rounds so $4500 all up) and that was so long ago the salary cap didn’t even exist. If that happened now it would need to be declared and would most likely become part of the cap.

As for your club with multiple mercenaries I.e players that play at a different club for the highest bidder every couple of years . They push your points up , they clearly haven’t set the comp on fire and they won’t be around long enough to give a shit about the joint. So you are paying under the salary cap
Bundoora are paying over it you![]()

Seen North Heidelberg played on maximum points yesterday do they have anyone who’s not a 1 pointer to come back in? Going to just get tougher going forward for clubs with no or weak juniors.Good news is that the Bergs played at 37/46 points yesterday - Plenty of room for 2 or 3 of their listed VFL players as required![]()
Unfortunately, we don’t have a junior base like Heidelberg or Banyule. As for your club with multiple mercenaries I.e players that play at a different club for the highest bidder every couple of years . I don’t know about “continually go out and poach from other clubs” who would they be?Unfortunately, we don’t have a junior base like Heidelberg or Banyule.
If we did, we would promote from within unlike the Tigers. You continually go out and poach from other clubs when you have more than enough already.
You are effectively bidding against yourselves and it’s to the detriment of your home grown players and the rest of the league.
I think Lachlan Smith is a 2, so is Dane Whitnall and think the guy that came across from Macleod is a 3.Seen North Heidelberg played on maximum points yesterday do they have anyone who’s not a 1 pointer to come back in? Going to just get tougher going forward for clubs with no or weak juniors.
The league have upped the price to contest a tribunal charge because they openly said they don’t want to have their time wasted with appeals. In short, if you challenge expect to lose they won’t be overturning decisions and even more so won’t go against any umpire decisions made which could jeopardise umpire’s preparedness to make reports if they are overturned. Absolute waste of time for anyone appealing!
So many one pointers ------ either juniors or recruits that stay for a long period . Success attracts new players including under 19.5 players . A true destination clubGood news is that the Bergs played at 37/46 points yesterday - Plenty of room for 2 or 3 of their listed VFL players as required![]()
A tough penalty but Mitch badly advised by his club. The extra week penalty is automatic as detailed in the rules .As a former tribunal member you need to be aware that the volunteer members are mainly professional people and ex umpires . Many cases are supported by video .Umpires are questioned in detail and the tribunal is totally independent of the NMNL staff and Board .The league have upped the price to contest a tribunal charge because they openly said they don’t want to have their time wasted with appeals. Probably play on the maximum all year to be honest.
tell me the last appeal that a player won in the NFNL?A tough penalty but Mitch badly advised by his club. What a waste of everyone else’s time….
Didnt set the world on fire , Id say from the fitness in regards to the ankle he wont be playing for a while. He copped a fair bit from the Boro under 19s all in fun but to have someone close to him yelling and taunting the 19'S only fuelled them to give him more lip .Cumberland might be one and done going off the vision I seen in a short clip doing the rounds.
Interesting to see the outcome, especially given the NFNL are promoting Pat Cronin foundation this week. Was exactly what society is trying to stamp out.
Also add that the Cronin foundation were filthy with how Richmond handled it and being ex tiger may not help his cause with the inconsistancy of the league tribunal.Cumberland might be one and done going off the vision I seen in a short clip doing the rounds.

Couldn't of been a worse start to his time there...Cumberland might be one and done going off the vision I seen in a short clip doing the rounds.
