Fingers crossed for some sort of resemblance of effort in the second half.

Cox didn’t make any statement at the selection table so I don’t have any confidence the players have been put on notice, so same sort of result as we’ve seen most of the year won’t be a surprise.

The one thing I really want to see is Cleary and Sheldrick get a good look at it through the guts. And praying Sheldrick can make some improvements on his efficiency.

Jordan can do a job on Callaghan he seems very taggable.

Composure and efficiency overall has to improve or we can expect a flogging.

I’m almost certain Jordon goes to Whitfield.

And if Gus is the sub, I shall provide an entertaining melt for all to “enjoy”.

Just hope for an improved performance this week with more intent. Not convinced we can kick a big enough score to get over them but you never know. Like the idea of Cleary and Sheldrick getting run through the middle and trying to free up Warner and Heeney more.

I don't know if rewarding poor vfl form for dropping poor afl form would make the players respect the coach or drive standards higher

Plenty here still flogging that dead horse though..
Rewarding poor VFL form: no, won’t help.

Dropping poor AFL form: yes, will help.

Unfortunately there isn’t much good VFL form to reward.

It’s a tough one. Do you risk giving Snell or Bowman a debut? Apart from Gus & Ladhams, they’ve really been the only (AFL listed) VFL players not in poor form.

Pretty apt description of where we are at currently.

I could understand and get excited by Snell debuting, rather than playing Hamling. But I don’t think he is even playing VFL this week.

Ladhams is clearly above the level at VFL, just doesn’t get a consistent crack at AFL level, likewise with Gus.

Hoping Gus gets a full run this arvo.

The coaches just don’t have a lot to work with right now, which makes it hard for them to make any form of ‘statement’ which is beneficial for the team holistically.

Honestly, not expecting much out of this game. 4 qtrs of maximum effort will get us close, but they have too many weapons across the ground. Tom Green wil have a day out
