"Freijah got a bit better when the game went on but followed up a poor game last week with a poorer game this week and almost played in a way that he was starting to believe his own hype."
My thoughts exactly. Love Freijah, but becoming more and more laconic, even arrogant, needs to buckle down and do the basics well again. how long before those flick handballs start being penalised?

A win like this also covers up how poor Naughton's marking is. need to try something else against Geelong.

Loved Cleary again. Quicker and with better core strength/hips than i thought. didnt see this coming at all
Yeah Freijah had a hint of cockiness about him and had a string of minor blunders which could have been costly in a different game. Just kept trying to do too much when there was a better option.

All players go through it so I’m sure he’ll be fine, but pretty sure he would have been given some firm feedback about it.

Yes. You touch on a very good point.

Sometimes with Darcy in the team we become to one dimensional. You could see it in the Saints game before and after he went down.

Managing his transition back into the team will be interesting. As you say, he obviously plays but hopefully the team adjusts well with him there.
What a problem to have….how do we mange to re integrate back into our team that is winning by 91pts, the future league best KPF while our other potential gun forward is in rehab…..

A bit surprised to see we have jumped to equal 3rd premiership favourite.

It will make more sense if we can beat Geelong and Hawthorn.
To this point we’ve been taking it up to the best sides and smashing lesser sides.

I think given our second half draw we are a good shot at top four but we need to pinch a few games against the better sides.

I think given we’ve won two recently at GMHBA and Geelong have had injuries and traveled it’s a good opportunity. I don’t think Hawthorn are as good this year either.

In all seriousness, have we had Naughtons eyes checked recently? Give him glasses like Mason Cox and he might clunk everything.

His first attempt on the lead, he flat palmed it, wet weather style.
Weird.

Somewhat related, how was Ed's kick to him late in the first?! 😲🥳

For what it’s worth, Buku is basically keeping his seat warm and it’ll be a question whether there is another role for Buku when he’s back.

West, Naughton*, Bont and Kennedy have all been very handy forward so hopefully players will keep looking for them when he’s back.

*ok he’s been up and down, but good at his best

There’s an efficient ruthlessness in this side like I’ve never seen before.
Absolutely, been sprouting this myself this year. We've seen some very good Bulldogs team in the last 12 years but this one never takes their foot off the pedal.

It annoyed me with previous teams we'd get to 50 up and win by 30 or we'd get to 30 up and let opponents back into games.

This side destroys teams, is the reason our % is the highest in the AFL right now. There's a hunger in this team, not sure where it's come from. Our shocking loss in the Hawthorn final last year and the waste that went with it maybe?

It's been that way since sometime last year

Has anybody else noticed that Tim English is putting together a pretty good season. Or is it just me?
He has absolutely lifted the last 4 weeks. People forget he missed a large chunk of pre season

Didn’t work in the Brisbane game

Seems that hard preseason is paying off. Was worried it would be a disaster when we lost Bont, Treloar etc but we are running out games beautifully.

Didn’t work in the Brisbane game
We lost Harmes in the first 5 mins on a hot day and were running both Hynes and Dolan against the reigning premiers.

That honestly wasn’t a bad loss. Looking forward to turning the tables at the Gabba

To think we had Rhylee West on the pine and played a ‘dischevelled’ JUH in the Elimination final against the Hawks still eats at me.

West is made for finals.
