apart from the GF in 2016
essendon 1985 WO third quarter was magic first time in my life i felt like i supported a premiership fancy
I liked the one v Pies at the G when Kolyniuk ran around Graeme Wright on the mark to goal and seal the game for us. Went with all my Pies in - laws ..... one left early after thatSpot on , definitely in my top 3.
Also the game on the MCG when Kolyniuk took Tom Alvin to the cleaners with 6 goals.
That was my first ever game, had been in the country 3 days. I had no idea what was going on. My son thinks I still have no idea what’s going on….I liked the one v Pies at the G when Kolyniuk ran around Graeme Wright on the mark to goal and seal the game for us. Away win v Sydney in 2015 was awesome tooSydney in Sydney late 2016 was so bloody good, closest we have gotten to winning a game after the siren in my lifetime. Was at the game so extra special. Only ruined by Dunstall's call "oh Jo-Hansen'.
Great win, but do you remember what happened the next week?Adding another one: Round 16, 1998. Brisbane Lions at Optus Oval.
We won 177-86, interestingly the same margin as last week.
I won a membership competition and ran out onto the ground with the team, clearly spurring them on to an 11-goal-to-one 1st quarter.

In a second quarter that lasted 40 minutes. Forty!Yes.. Without my direct encouragement and overall inspiring presence, the team absolutely crumbled against the Blues.
I have this game on DVD.Adding another one: Round 16, 1998. Brisbane Lions at Optus Oval.

Some games stick in the mind, R17, 1999 at Geelong, Dogs were 4th, Cats well out of the 8, but Dogs were vulnerable at times that year and inconsistent.
Cats got to 20 up, nearly 20 minutes into the last, "Geelong, Geelong, Geelong" the crowd was singing. The bloke standing in front of us had been giving it to the Dogs and us all day, turned and scoffed at us that we were the worst top 4 side he'd seen. Not much you can say at that point.
Ten minutes or so later, Dogs had got up by 7 with a few James Cook and Luke Darcy goals, this bloke turned and pushed his way through, just had to say "that's why we're top 4, mate". Brother and I still chuckle at that one.
How good was the Luke Darcy volley to square the ball to Paul Hudson late in the game?
We were the Comeback Kings under Wallace.
The week prior we came from 40 points down at 3/4 time to beat the Crows. Two weeks before that, we were 40 points down at qtr time against the Swans at the SCG and won fairly comfortably in the end.
The week after the Geelong comeback you speak of, we were 15 points down with two and a half minutes remaining against the Blues. We kicked two very quick goals to give us an opportunity to win. A couple of chances inside the final 60 seconds to take a mark inside 50 but it wasn't to be.
We only lost six H&A matches that season (1999) and three of them were by fewer than nine points.
We also lost this game in round two which was a scoring bonanza. Despite the loss, a very entertaining match with almost 300 combined points scored.
Ah yes.1997 round 6 vs West Coast in Perth.
Given no chance. WC even brought G Jackovich back for this game to "ease him back in" after a few weeks out after injury.
Dogs led for most of the game, winning by 14 points. Sweet as!
