Heard one of our players on 774..( just a bit of it) couldn't recognise voice but he seemed to somehow think we'd done a good job today because of contested stats??? Fmd. So much wrong. Is it even fixable?
Interviewer stating a few obvious facts..player could not comprehend something was wrong.(but Giants are good!)

It’s the execution (players provide) that is the downfall. We don’t have the necessary skills to play at the standard required.

Straightened up our defence and stoppages/contest/effort are there, it’s the forward entries (execution again and IQ/decision making) that’s continually f*ing us over.

I agree with others that it is concerning that we have 5 players taking up a huge percentage of our cap, and a 6th wanting to join them, and none of those players are considered to be in the AA side at the half way point of the season. If you are not performing consistently up to your salary, then we have a problem. Cripps and Weitering generally earn their money. The other 4, not so much.

Yes but Harry was a key in two wins this year, and Curnow is a two time Coleman medallist and AA spots etc etc. BUT ... these types should be having high standard games 20 times out of 23 per season, and vote winning games at least 10 times per season. Two forwards with 3 Colemans between them, should be kicking a real bag once a month at least and be consistent in between that. Where are the bags? Where are the games where they are unstoppable?

Comfortable ... way too comfortable. No inclination to fight, to get down and dirty, to be the firestarter. Even when they do, zero football smarts to do the right thing at the right time.

Our cap is a mess because we put all of our eggs in too few baskets.

Time to let go of one or two baskets.

We know most of the senior players criticised today have performed to a high level.

It’s not the players. Players poor performances can be magnified by poor team selection & balance. Team selection was poor the past 2 games.

Our coaches lack vision, smarts, the ability to pre-empt, adapt, coach to our strengths when we have limited personnel & exploit opposition weaknesses.

We lack enough players with poise & execution; exacerbated with players like E Hollands, jagger & a couple more missing

Under Voss, with no credit to him, only when we have had lots of talls missing due to injury, we have played better with a smaller running side which apply lots of tackling pressure, close down spaces & restrict opposition spread. Yet again, the selection clowns never learn as shown by the past 2 weeks selections.

We are not far away. In the off season with a couple of appropriate smart signings, a couple of players back which greatly help with team balance & news coaches we will be competitive at the point end

I wouldn't want to play for Cripps - he is a big problem at Carlton - not the biggest though....the blokes on a Million at Carlton aren't leaders - they aren't on field coaches and never will be apart from Weitering.

In hindsight, I don't think Trac would really fix things here either...

Now the smartest move is to trade him for a top pick this year + a future first... perhaps the Hawks will give us our pick back...
