He never spits the dummy at Gov, who hangs him out to dry so often, and should never play KPD because hes totally unaccountable. Gov should only ever play 3rd tall / intercept roles, because he burns his teammates so often as a ‘defender’

Good & bad culture is such a crock.
You win and the culture is 1st class.
Lose and there’s a poor culture. Losing vs winning is the ingredient of culture.

Sure no club has a bad culture at AFL level but searching for ingredient to boost their form on the paddock (other than HFC who are full of smart a* flogs).

Unless you’ve got players (or staff) undermining the program, clubs aren’t imploding on bad culture.

Nope. Cant agree. In fact I think its one of the biggest failures of our club.

That and list management. Rewarding our best players with big dollars is one thing, but signing them up for 7+ years is madness.

Then we continue to reward players with games who dont deserve it, and we are forever reinventing players in roles they arent suited to.

Our culture as a club is one big swinging dick of buying our way out of trouble instead of putting long term goals in place.

I agree, but I do think the rules are being misused. The opponents often doesnt watch the ball, and just cuts his run. The leaping ruckman is being held off the ball.

The issue is watch those players thrive at a new club just like Kennedy.

For some reason Carlton is not good at developing young Players as another poster pointed out, and I've heard it before ... we can recruit a potential Star and turn them into average.

Carlton can trade our 'best' Players that have currency and then what ... keep doing what we've been doing over the last 30 years ..? Carlton have no idea how to create a Top 4 team that is a genuine contender.
Seems like Players come to Carlton cause Top teams / Coaches won't tolerate bog ordinary who don't want to put in 100% ... like Dimma and Chol and Curnow

I don't like excuses ... only agree with other poster that Weitering has enough credit in the Bank to have some bad hair Days. I'm thinkin .. he is buckling under the constant expectation of holding our backline together without one or two other defenders that he can rely on for help. He needs a Tom Stewart type or a May / Lever ... another Rock who can take over when he is a little off or injured. Carlton have denied him this.

Carlton believe our current small forwards are the future ... that is how switched on that mob are...

Huge difference between Carlton and Collingwood...

They always have lots of options ... either ahead, going past or in congestion to Handball to
Carlton doesn't ... so we have to just bomb it to a 50/50 most times or handball up in the air like Cripps
I get that this frustrates Weitering ... having nothing forward to pass it to.
This is not his fault ... but it does become his problem.. and he gets the blame

This goes to standards, from coaches and players.

It doesn't happen at Collingwood because he would be immediately admonished.

It doesn't get called out because once again we are emboldened by the 2023, "do nothing and it will get better" approach.

Charlies been doing this shit for years because we let him. It's so visible we have no standards. Just an absolute generational quagmire this club

Nope. I hardly ever talk Jesse up. I've called for him to be dropped plenty of times.

I've basically only started defended him during and after this game, because I felt singling him out was wrong.

That doesn't mean I think he will make it. It doesn't mean I think he is in form. It doesn't mean he should keep his place in the side.

I just watched him busting his gut and throwing himself into contests and tackles. I saw real effort from him, and not the bruise free stuff he shows regularly.

What you've noticed seems to be since yesterday. You won't find too much 'ardent' defence aside from that.
