Player Watch #47: Cooper Trembath - 3mo after running around for Blackburn, has kicked 9.4 in 3 weeks - has signed a 1yr deal

Cooper trained with us during the 2024 pre-season, did AFL and VFL practice matches last year and this year, and trained with the AFL boys again during pre-season this year. Decision has absolutely not been made on one VFL game! See below.

Ooohhh Larkey would’ve been so “cross” with the umpire after this.

Am sure I read on here that someone posted we were keen on the Bath.
2 banch. 10 Trembath. Yawn
I'd love that. Nippy small forward with skills and a clunking KPP out of our VFL program.
I'll be perplexed if we take Trembath (despite seeing some of his potential upside). He has played 1 game in our VFL side despite being on the list for over 18 months.

If we rated him, we would have been playing ahead of James Tarrant.

Feels like we picked him to just protect the VFL program and stop rival clubs from swooping.
Does feel like it as we signed him up to our VFL side but weren't playing him. Which begs a question - what would have happened if Tucker didn't get injured a week ago and we were left with a single pick? Not to mention if Bergman didn't get injured either?

He was always coming.

Nobody would suggest that the decision was made based on one VFL game. But it is reasonable to suggest that the fact he hasn't gotten more VFL games was a deliberate decision

How many Cornish surnames have appeared on your club's list?

IIRC, first Cornish surname at the Roos since Georgia Nanscawen.
Craig and Brad Sholl
David Teague
Paul Spargo

Matt Keast on our VFL list

Ross Poldark was on the list for a while but enjoyed his stargazey pies too much unfortunately to make an impact. Probably ditto for Rod Tregenza.

Thanks G2G.

Maybe Cornish Coop should be tried up forward given the bevvy of defenders.

Likes playing like Aaron Naughton.

10. North Melbourne - Cooper Trembath

193cm, 17/10/2005, North Melbourne VFL

Trembath was overlooked at the 2023 draft after having a strong season with the Eastern Ranges,. This year he has only featured for the North Melbourne VFL team once, having been squeezed out by AFL-listed defenders and forwards. But he recently debuted for the Roos and kicked three goals against Brisbane's VFL side. Can be an intercept defender too, with his versatility appealing to the Roos.

Who did your club just take? Every mid-season draft pick - https://www.afl.com.au/news/1331208
