I don't know what the stats show, but I think the reason I am never overly impressed with Grundy is because I think he's quite wasteful in and around the stoppages. He gets first hands to a lot of possessions, but when he's not tapping it he has this awful habit of just taking it out of the ruck contest and doing some blind handball to the outside, in a direction that's impossible to predict and we're often out-numbered in. It really feels like he puts next to no thought in working with his mids (who have their own problems that are another matter entirely.)

Thats a good summary of what I saw. Gawn was far more productive although we ruled the team stats pretty much everywhere.

I was probably wrong in stating he was ‘dominant’.

Grundy’s errors tend to lead into a belief that the oppo is killing him - the stats are actually a bit of a rise to me.

If only Grundy could hit a target with his handballs.
