Ok we seem to agree he’s not going well so where is the justification in him being in a state squad. The guy doesn’t even get in the best players when he comes back to Carey Park

There is no justification for the state squad members. It isn't the best players in it, it is just who the scouts want to see. Unlucky for those players we do well, week in week out, and are not rewarded.

Two games done.

Wow even Claremont's second string players are good. Leaving aside the below agers for now - George Stoney, Will Duplock, Charlie Cossom, Joshua Grahame, Samson Jennings-Hopkins, Max Hansen Knarhoi, Brady Foster, Will Malaczuk (Probably choosing cricket) and Charlie McKinlay are quality players. I wonder if some of them will be squeezed out of the line-up come finals time.

While on cricket - congratulations to Albert Esterhuizen (PT), who made the WA state 16 footy squad a few years back, for being selected in the WA Western Warriors senior squad for cricket as a genuine all-rounder.

Super impressed with Perth's 2009 DOB's Fynn Tomasini (Tall defender) and rangy mid Kye Inferrera.

Subiaco are making a late play through their mercurial Indigenous players. Dwayne Ryder, Darcy Montgomery, Rydn Rae Anthonysz (Did elite things again), Jakson Durham and Ollie Moeauri. If they had a decent midfield, then who knows?

Peel are battling hard and indeed had four state 18's players in action. Those being Basil Hart, Mitchell Stirling**, Bol Makuach and Jax Williams. None of them had much impact which is a concern.

Excellent games from (PT) 2009 DOB's Ewan Thomson and Hudson Sanders.

MHK is a huge talent for an underager seems so consistent in his role and seems to find 20 plus every week.

No no I meant I would not mention underagers. Max is a 2025 year guy. Most of Claremont's below agers were playing PSA or rested for the state game.

Ok I see, do you see him as a chance to get drafted?
Max? Nah......He'll be a WAFL league stalwart for many years though and no disgrace in that. I wished I could have played just 1 WAFL league game.

EDIT: Having said that I guess he might get an opportunity. Tough these days for smaller mids though.

So the other squad members playing aren’t in the team for first game then?
It looks that way mate. I'm a bit surpised Oscar Willis was released to play for Claremont.

I guess he's not getting a game for WA this week. Same with Harvey Spawton-Guy (WP).

I've spotted Toby Whan and Fred Rodriguez watching the Derby at Fremantle Oval right now. Fingers crossed those guys have set themselves for massive games.

I know WA has a good side but sometimes things go pear shaped at the champs.

Peel are the first team to have played half their home and away games.
Currently in last spot but here is their complete votes/goals/games so far.

East Perth absolutely run into the ground by West Perth today.
East Perth

#46 Ben Crook -3 goals, never heard of the kid before but jeez he has some grit about him.

#5 Jake Caton -WCE NGA fights hard a very outside style midfielder and rather clean.

#8 Max Donnelly - Extremely strong defender, doesn’t give up and will get the ball to ground or mark it himself 90% of the time. Has been a goer all year for the Royals and will be an extremely talented league player.

#23 Marcus Cassidy- East Perths Best, extremely talented inside and outside midfielder. 3 games with over 25 disposals in a row, seriously questioning how the kid wasn’t in the 18s squad.

West Perth
#7 Judd Marcello -Very strong midfielder with an elite kick and very strong aerial ability, robbed of 18s imo.

#2 Cooper Bewick -Complemented Judd nicely, gets a lot of ball going forward to put WP in dangerous spots.

#22 Pete Young - Very strong contested Mark and 1v1 defending, looks exciting for the future.

Like Darcy Montgomery (S) I reckon Marcus Cassidy is back in business. But have they both left their run too late. Stars at 16.

Agreed. As a consistent watcher of the East Perth boys over the last few years I tend to see this a lot. If I recall correctly Cassidy was played as a forward for the first few rounds which didn’t really make any sense to me.

Montgomery is very good, his attitude sometimes comes off as a bit careless but a very talented player.

How did Kenh play? I watched the EF v EP game and he seemed out of sorts, having no impact on the game, not his usual self.

Kenh has been very quiet of late.Suddenly seems like he has know idea how to play the game.Very puzzling but seems to happen a bit down at East Perth
