2 weeks seems reasonable. Was a bump to the head after all.
But I do agree with Hird that two players attacking the ball side on prevents this occurring.

Suspension makes sense.

Why is it high impact though- is anything to the head high or is it because there was a bruise? Seems incongruous with popping right up and playing the game out.

Also, afl needs to start fining players that do what cerra did. Need to get the right technique in the game and I think money will ultimately talk

Biggest question is why did it take 14 minutes for Cerra to come off the field. If the AFL are serious about concussion then their neutral doctor should be sacked for incompetence and Carlton doctor banned for two weeks too. Probably should extend to the Carlton coaching staff. Voss said himself it was black and white, so what Durham did in a split second, he thought was ok for 14 minutes. Hmmm!

Yeah we were taught to put our head over the ball when we were kids. Both footy and cricket.

If Cerra hadn't of lifted his head when he saw him coming it would have been far worse.

Players these days routinely lead with their head so they can get free kicks. The AFL needs to recognise this and penalise it.

Well this incident turns into a complete shit show.

Rated as high impact based on the fact that Cerra was eventually forced from the field for a HIA, after Carlton finally got around to it. That he passed. Not as bad as the Jeremy Cameron

You approach the ball sideways because your body is going to be the first thing hit and will take the bulk of the impact.

Its not new. It has literally been taught to kids for decades.

As I said above, players are now intentionally going in head first to draw free kicks.

If someone came from a different direction there would be far less impact because it wouldnt be head-on. It would be more side on.
