Not that I disagree that he should be dropped but it is probably as simple as none of the medium / small forwards are doing anything in the VFL. If they where then I suspect he is out as well followed shortly after by Gresham. Even though he has been average he has been better than Day-Wicks who has got a bit of a look now.

ADW was horrendous last week and got rightly subbed for Perkins.

Who then was even worse than ADW.

Both should have been dropped and Smart/McMahon brought in, even if it meant going even smaller/taller up forward.

Well McMahon yes I could go with that. Smartt was not great. Think he will get a shot but he is actually worse than Perkins as far as defense goes and that is saying something.

Got to admit haven’t been that impressed with Smartt’s VFL performances last couple of weeks, so with so many our injured not sure who would replace Perkins

Probably a good thing for ADW to go back to the VFL level and get a few touches and get his rhythm back. I would certainly look to bring him back in for a block of games before the season ends.

Hobbs - buddy, it’s bordering on now or never. Wouldn’t be shocked if he’s not the sub.

Going off VFL stats, might be a Gunston type that needs very few possessions to make a big impact.

We have the bye with a host of players returning after the bye so I'm fine with seeing what we have. We're not winning this game anyway.

Sheil, tsatas unlucky. Both flaws but cant say they are any worse than perkins and parish flaws atm.

Blakiston is tall, maybe mcmahon but dont think they'll use him down back and only chance to stay on the list is as a fwd.

Blakiston will be out post bye

I will say our selections at least show alignment with our list build and mid/long term strategy approach.

Using team selection but also msd and draft selection to really try and fill the many holes in our team.

Even merret less midfield makes sense from a mid/long term approach.

I'm sure the AFL want to give Freo some nationwide exposure in a stand alone timeslot, but you'd think this would be a ratings disaster for them, if it goes to script - ie. down by plenty at 1/4 time.
