Butters holding out to free agency next year it seems. Port might only get band 1 compo if the contract he will get is huge and that might be unders again for them even if they are a bottom 4 side as he's worth multiple 1sts imo.

I really hope he stays if it helps skew the pay structure to be top heavy.

That comment was ambiguous to me. Was he saying that players "put a big black line" through the clubs that were saying shit about the Crows? Or was he saying that players put a black line through the Crows based on what they heard?

As others have said, absolutely crazy that there was no serious follow-up questions asked of him.

Yeah I also didn't know which way he was talking about either.

It's still concerning and I bet if he was talking about Carlton or Essendon he would have got probed more, disappointed they left something so juicy on the table

Sure he’s taken a step back but he’s also one of the youngest captains in the AFL. You’d be kidding if you said he wouldn’t make our best team.

It's a spectacular way to make money, or in Tredrea's case, attempt to make money.

Notwithstanding the fact he can’t be sacked as he isn’t employed…. There would be a high bar for being stood down from the board for misconduct.

Members voted to have Tredrea on the board. I think Koch is smart enough to know how it would look if an unelected president and a bunch of unelected board members agitated to have him removed.

Say what you want about him, but unlike Koch, he’s actually accountable to members for what he says and does.

If members decide they want him gone, they can vote him out at the next election.

Dont forget the AFL own their board, just like they do ours.

I know it is unprecedented territory for this league, but having a Board member who supports anti Israeli views is not a great look for the club or the AFL.

Ports sponsors may take a dim view being associated with it as well.


One of the big taboos in PR....

There would be a clause about Board Member conduct and racial vilification. Given Port's stance on racial vilification in the AFL, they are hypocrites if they don't remove him now.


Also quite questionable about how effective Tredrea can be on that Board now. He would effectively be mothballed. No one on that Board is listening to his opinions from now on.

I don't see how you could technically nail him for having anti-semitic views, when it was a "guest" on his show that espoused all of them. Should Tony Jones have got the sack for having nutters on Q&A?

I don't think he mentioned family. My take on it was that he was implying that it wouldn't be for the money, LOL, although he didn't mention that either. Maybe he's implying that he won't like the new coach as much as Ken.

IMO, NWM has always been going to Port.
