Can't see him leaving, his form is fantastic. Agree with other posters, they need to get rid of Darcy

We NEED to keep Jackson. What we do with Darcy should have zero bearing on that. We don’t need to get rid of him until we decide 700k is too much for a backup ruck.
I believe if we keep both Darcy and Jackson both players will have longer carriers. Sharing the load will reduce the damage to their bodies, on one of the hardest positions on the knees and body.
We have them both contracted and should hold them for our GF window.

You don't need a highly paid ruck who struggles to get on the park to help Jackson.
Reidy could do that at less than half the price.

Yep.

And I've seen Darcy and he still can't get on the park.
That's the problem.
Darcy getting on the park once every 5 weeks to equalise the contest with Xerri in the ruck is still worth more than Reidy playing every single week at AFL level. He’s putrid.

There’s a reason why Oscar McDonald and Pat Voss are preferred to him as a second ruck

friends taking the side of parents coz they also lived in his house for free and when he stopped the gravy train for the parents they missed out on the funds too
It seems you are close to the situation.

I would suggest you stop posting about Luke's personal life.

If you are true friend of him, be supportive and shut the f up.

If it comes down to it, I'm keeping Jackson over Darcy all day.

No one would take Darcy though unless you attach a pick to him which is the problem.

This aged well and it only took 12 hours to be wrong.

You do realise the reason no one would take Darcy is not because of current month performance but because he won't see out his contract (ie his durability is terrible and his already bad knee won't carry the weight until 2030).

If you’re a contending team with a good s&c team, apparent money to spend, and perhaps need a very good ruck for the next 2-3 years to try and bag some more flags then you would take him with nothing coming back. Seems like we’ve found the perfect team for him!

Seriously though, I think if he can play out this year with no more issues then he’d have plenty of suitors. Already has multiple clubs asking the question.

He’s a top 5-10 ruck in the league and looks like he’s getting his fitness back. Teams take risks on injured players all the time as it usually means less draft Capital to spend.

Watch Oscar Allen get picked up with a busted Acillies and playing less games than Darcy.

I don’t want to trade him, I just think your comment is about 2 months behind where he’s at. Talent is the hardest thing to get, availability is a metric teams risk.

It makes no sense to trade Darcy this year in my opinion. I think the only way we trade him is if a team takes 100% of his contract which is highly unlikely even if he finishes the season strong given his injury history. I would rather see how him and LJ develop for an extra year and with Sean given extra time over a preseason to regain touch and further improve fitness. Meanwhile we should bring in a mature age ruck dominating at state league level this off season via SSP, delisted free agency or a rookie pick. That way we could have the option of being able to trade Darcy next year while having a solid back up on our list.

On Footy Classified last night, both Barrett and Twomey have said the Jackson to Melbourne trade is dead, and that you can draw a line through it.

Was very real at the start of the year but they've said he will now be staying at Fremantle definitively.

What are the chances of him actually playing out any year without issues though? Pretty unlikely I would say.
