And plenty are saying we have Dean next year as a key back, give me a break, yeah let's destroy these kids. They are twigs and need time to develop.

To be honest, I couldn't give a rat's about this week's game, beyond hoping to see the kids do well.
I'd be happier if they sent everyone they want next year off to surgery or rehab, to have them cherry ripe in time for the off-season, because it needs to be an absolute doozy.

I'm looking to take something out of each game. I couldn't care less how the highly paid guys perform. Them playing well in a dead rubber would probably annoy me more than anything, to be honest.

It's just about the less experienced players for me. Anything that shows us we have something to look forward to.

By the close of business back on the 24th April, (three days before the Carlton Geelong match) there were 587 posts on our Big Footy preview of the game. The club was travelling okay at that stage. It is now similarly three days before the Fremantle game and this will be the 118th post. Shows how much interest and hope has evaporated in the season. Roll on 2026 please.

I'm really not convinced on Boyd, but irrespective of that personal view, the club would already have a pretty good handle on what he offers.

If Doc has been nudged early, I hope it's so that Wilson can get a run of games to build a bit of momentum into the off-season. Or Charleson, for that matter. Give a kid some games and see what they can do.
