Freo winning would be fine. Dogs winning would be fine - get to blame that on father son rorts. Suns would be ok. Crows fine (hopefully Tex does his hammy in the prelim) but much funnier if they lost.

Justin Snoremuir being rewarded with a flag? Another club that whinges about our rorts being rewarded with a flag?

Alex Pearce lifting the cup up would annoy a particular subset of people so on balance all good. That and kingy being wrong again.

Ultimately today was on Fagan. Quite apart from the fact that selecting Doedee and McLachlan were mistakes, he should have learned something from our draw against North Melbourne and losses to Melbourne and Gold Coast. The players should have been mentallly on notice about not thinking they just had to turn up today to collect the points. There should have been no chance of players coming out and playing soft, lazy and weak football today. We had so much to play for and once again, we capitulated against a side that is outside the top eight.

He’s the coach and he needed to coach much more effectively in the lead up to the game. Players who are repeat offenders need to have consequences. The group should have been inoculated against this outcome.

The dust settles and it just gets more annoying that we've lost games to the DEES, Giants and Swans at the Gabba. Just incredibly lazy and complacent footy by our guys. The fans get so frustrated because it's so obvious we're better than this.

Sand in their dickholes ?

That's a new one to me and I think I've heard them all.

How do you get sand in your dickhole ?
If you've got 99 problems and a beach is one?

Pretty sure for a tackle to be recorded the opponent can't have disposed of the footy

Then it’s a really misleading stat. It can still be an effective tackle if the player disposes of it IMO.
A recorded tackle is one that impacts the disposal of the football.

A broken tackle doesn't count and neither does one where the player gets off an effective handball but one where the player doesn't get a kick or handball away on target (because of the tackle, not because of a skill error) should be getting counted.

It is so bloody hard to win multiple flags in a condensed number of years and/or consecutively, looking at this century 4 teams have done it.. Lions 01-03, Cats 07-11, Hawks 13-15, and Tigers 17-20.

The other Premiers this century and how long till they won their next one >

2000- Bombers, have not won another flag.
2004- Port, have not won another flag.
2005- Swans, 7 years later, 2012.
2006- Eagles, 12 years later, 2018.
2008- Hawks, 5 years later, 2013.
2010- Magpies, 13 years later, 2023.
2012- Swans, have not won another flag.
2016- Bulldogs, have not won another flag.
2018- Eagles, have not won another flag.
2021- Demons, have not won another flag.
2022- Cats, have not won another flag.
2023- Magpies, have not won another flag.
2024- Lions, still a possibility.

2008 Hawks not close enough to their 3Peat to be considered same era IMO.
Bombers 2000 one of the best 1 season sides in history and never backed it up.
Magpies(2010), Demons(2021) were very good sides and never backed it up.
Magpies (2023) still a chance to form some sort of era if they win this year.

We've lost 6 and drawn 1, apart from Adelaide in Adelaide we were favourites to win all of those. Just not consistent enough this season.

Lose the next 2 and miss finals, win the next 2 and sneak into top 4, niether of these outcomes would surprise me!

I know there’s been some discussion about Charlie Cameron.

The player ratings (probably the single best stat to measure influence on a game) suggest that our best three forwards this season have been Bailey, Rayner and Morris, then Ah Chee and Cameron are basically tied for fourth. Then it’s Hipwood, Lohmann and Day. So statistically Charlie is still good enough to be playing. His stats are only a fraction down from last season (the big drop off was from 2023 to 2024).

Interestingly Charlie’s pressure acts (12.4) are second only to Rayner (13.3) in the forward line.

Tbh if you were looking to drop an established forward based on numbers it would probably be Lohmann. His pressure acts are down about one-third this season (15 to 10) and he’s overall sitting at seventh best.

I don’t think we should make any changes with the forward line, especially as I don’t see any better options right now.

It's his first year.

He's a total gun.

So he has things to learn. He'll do it.
Not saying he won't end up a well rounded player, his defensive defecits were on show as were Marshall's and McLaughlin's. All young, all with no defensive intent. Something we must be acutely aware of.

Just watched Fages pressure. He was reserved, but that is the most reserved angry I have seen him. Let down by our fwds kicking and fwd/mid pressure and entries. How many games has this cost us with similar issues? Adelaide, GWS, Sydney and North. Also Levi. 83% game time in the middle and 0 tackles AGAIN. Wasn't alone, but it is a continuous trend with him.

Doedee 0 Tackles / Gardiner 0 Tackles / Ah Chee 0 Tackles / Smith 0 Tackles / Morris 0 Tackles / L Ashcroft 0 Tackles / McLachlan 0 Tackles / Robertson 0 Tackles / Cameron 1 Tackle / Zorko 1 Tackle / Wilmot 1 Tackles/ Andrews 1 Tackle.

12 players manage 4 tackles between them for the game. Weak and lazy. Too much being left to others.

Sydney’s bottom 12 for tackles had twice as many.
I’d like to see the stats for broken tackles

Levi is an 18 year old in his first season .

We looked good at times during the game but just didn't have the focus and effort to sustain it with the personnel we had out there.

No one with the capacity to pick up Heeney really cost us. Then we came out after half time without any real desperation that we needed to win this game.

It was a poor performance but not that bad that we can't pick up and win one of our last 2 and make finals. Then with a week off we'll be competitive ,even with who we have to pick from now.

We've disappointed so often at home this year it didn't come as any real surprise.
