He would've moved eventually anyway. He was done as a best 22 defender at Freo and we had to move past him as a forward to take the next step. Would've just moved on a year or two later and been on half the money.

I don't mind Griff and good luck to him cashing in. He was always an athlete playing football and sometimes struggled with it.

Doing his knee has taken away that athleticism and you have what you have now.

He would be a long way from getting a game with us or most teams for that matter so I don't blame him making the most of his earning capacity as long as he can put up with the abuse.
