The Ranges coaches like their boy Oskar. One of the fastest around and good skills. Great kid. Had a couple of really good Coates games against Sandy and Oakleigh recently. Those performances probably got noticed.
Agree he looks very good. His kicking is sublime and has some serious wheels.

I'm really coming around to our hand in this draft. Guys like Poo, Grilj etc are looking exciting.

Right here right now I see the top 3 as very much worth taking, no trading (Duursma, CDT and Sharp). Then a heap of really good looking talent, especially quick skilled players.

It'd be interesting if we have CDT available. Reckon some clubs would pay through the nose for him. But why would we not pick him?

Blair is going to earn his pay this year. Trades where we give not much and get a lot, or just pick serious talent.
there seems to be a consensus, ignoring academies etc... Duursma, CDT and Sharp make up a clear top 3 so we have one of those if we play our cards smartly

not every club are like us and West Coast where we are probably looking at a few years of rebuild. Some will be looking to seize the moment.

Some will want Duursma, some will want CDT and others will like Sharp including clubs like Gold Coast who have their own academy options because it comes down to in the eye of the beholder sometimes and what they want at any given time

Yeah I was watching Greeves earlier in season and Oskars pace stood out. But game vs power was when I really took notice. Been watching all eastern since to watch him.

Genuine pace, a raking left foot and he has force in his tackles.

Do you have connections to Ranges? The other one I really like (well top age anyway got some great bottom age talent, Gillian, Lawerence, Chapman, Devers etc.) is Sullivan Robey. Obviously come a bit from nowhere as he is a supp player, but has serious power and athleticism, and kicks some eye catching goals.

Are you and Groupie the same person?

A look at one of Oskar Taylor's better performances of the season for Eastern. Oskar was mentioned on Gettable as a potential late draft bolter and this game shows the traits that could be turning the heads of recruiters. He's another in the contingent of rebounding defenders which is a real strength of this pool. He combines pace and ball skills, and while his kicking perhaps lacks the penetration of some, he has lovely balance and coordination with his technique which allows him kick at pace without compromising accuracy. His excellent reaction speed and clean hands at ground level allow him to swoop in quickly to clean up loose balls inside D50.

We have picks 2 & 3, stuff trading them out. Don’t care about future picks as they are an unknown. We will be drafting two of the best 3-4 players in this years draft, use them imo and keep building top end talent base. Stupid not to imo
Disagree.
Rather have at least 1 pick in the top 5 in next years draft than this years.

If CDT is there at our pick it'll be interesting.

His thing is that he is like a mid once the rucking stops. We really need a new ruck long term. So a Sims CDT duo would potentially be awesome.

But some clubs would be willing to sell the farm for him. So the option of a trade also looks good.

My own (informed by looking at highlight videos) view is that CDT is a good but not great ruck and although having great athleticism isn't a genuine mid. So I'm not as hot on him as others might be, but then I know I really have not much of an idea about how likely he is to be really good.

Anyway out first pick looks like being worth a lot either way.

And before that you have to go way back toi Ottens and even then he was traded.
Ruck mids are the future the game is evolving. He's got a deft touch with both his hands and his foot skills, they're seriously good, marking ability, poise and agility of a midfielder, clean below his knees, plays like a mid with overhead ability outside of the ruck contests, athleticism and endurance due to his elite athletic/basketball background.

Ruck craft takes years and you can teach it unlike the stuff he has.

He’s actually showed a fair bit of promise going forward in the last couple of carnival games.
So he is very much in the unicorn category and I just can’t see us passing on him with two picks if west coast pass on him.
