Hugely disappointing still but it's a much more palatable outcome than if he chose the crows. 2 years we re-assess, there is still hope with this deal. If he chose the crows that would've been it for his career, that outcome had me feeling sick in the stomach.
I wonder if the Hinkley season 2025 pantomime and the club turning into pure ass this year played a role in this decision.

It wasn't 2.5 per year for 12 years... he's lying and putting it that way to put a sting into port and rock the boat of players hearing that figure. It's what he and others do. Would of perhaps been 2.5m for first 2 years front ended then dropped considerably over the remaining as mentioned awhile back by Cal Twomey. Could of also been to boost his contract at Saints knowing full well he wasn't coming. Again, who knows anymore. But i wouldn't trust majority of these clowns. Only trust worthy person in the AFL media is Cal Twomey.

Firstly, good on NAS for showing some loyalty.
I suspect 2.5 a year would have been a front or backloading type thing (its certainly what had been discussed over previous weeks) ... I suspect the "for the life of the deal" stuff is journo spin.
This now allows us to focus on specific needs, and look at what we can do wrt our next 3 drafts and likely F/S academy selections. Im all for havign a slid dip at Bailey as he really does fill an need
