It's insane!! Every year they need other sides results to fall their way in the final round to make it and they always float around 8th, 9th, 10th!! Rack off losers.

This year they have to win - hopefully Freo can rise.
And in 2022, they watched on in horror as Collingwood came from the clouds in the last 5 minutes against Carlton to relegate them to 5th and no double chance!

I feel a lot more confident in Freo when nobody expects us to win.
I get that we are playing the indoor specialists at their indoor flat track, but when you look at who they've beaten and who we've beaten, surely $3.50 isn't a very true reflection of our chances.

I certainly agree that $3.50 is over the odds

Freo wins over Adelaide and Hawthorn in Perth but loss to Collingwood and Brisbane at home

Away wins against Giants and Suns and Collingwood.

What has really hurt them is losses against teams outside the top 9 - Melbourne, St Kilda and Sydney.

Dogs have had no bad losses but no away wins against contenders.

Suns, Dogs, Freo have had the easiest runs home. One of them will kick themselves for shitting the bed.
On the other hand, Lions have had the hardest. Which is why I reckon they'll win the flag given where they've ended up after it's said and done.

What’s bullshit is needing 16 wins to make finals. We’ve won 11/13 games yet still staring down the barrel.

We lost of 4 of our first 7. That's what killed us. Win two of those and we've locked in a home final already.
Every action has a reaction. Not sure we are in the same position if we just win the Swans game for instance, the rest of the games play out differently. A bit like the Saints game gave us a kick up the arse.

We'd be top 4 with 15 wins last year. That said, I recon we are a much better chance against the Dogs than the betting suggests. Kicking for goal was horrendous against Brisbane so if lightning doesn't strike twice then we would be in the game and not have to panic in the last.

So GC lose both they can't make it.

Dogs would still make it if freo win but GC dont due to %

2 weeks ago GC were looking at top 2/4 with the game in hand

Reckon Port will push them.. never beaten Port at AO?
If they don't make it from here it's a bigger choke than us last year. Can't see it happening.

GC only need 1 win to make it. The 2 games makes things a little tricky. If Port get across the line the GC boys then have to recover on only 4 full days of rest and play Essendon on Wed night

They could play the next night and still win by 10 goals to be honest. Its a top 8 team playing for a finals birth up against a bottom 4 team who will have completely checked out for the season

I don’t think that’s fair. Essendon are grotesquely undermanned and haven’t won a game since May, but some of their efforts have been encouraging.

Yes, GC will probably beat them in sleep.

Assuming that Gold Coast beat the Essendon VFL side on Wednesday, there will be 3 teams that will be chasing their inaugural premiership (us, Freo and GC). And 3 Victorian sides vs 5 non Victorians. What a fascinating finals series it promises to be.
