Forgettable end to a forgettable season...

...but the last four weeks have shown some hope with the young crop. PLENTY to work with there.

Funny what happened the last two weeks were it felt the boys were left off the leash

We're not a hopeless footy club, I promise ya.

Big change is needed, but our youth is a hell of a lot better than we thought at the start of the season.

A 'hell of a lot' is a big statement that I don't happen to agree with. Somewhat better, sure, but this is cheap form when the sting has gone out of the season. Ultimately we shouldn't be using ourselves as a barometer but rather the rest of the competition as a whole.

In a very bad year the youth have been a shining light in the late parts of the season.

Loved the game today of Flynn Young - can be a real POD for us. Motlop 22, a goal and six score involvements. Would be bitterly dissapointed if we didn't re-sign him. Moir is all class. His movement around stoppages is incredible. Wilson and Carroll also offer a heap as rebounding defenders off HB. And then Cowan and Hollands keep putting up strong performance after strong performance. That draft looking quite good for us. HOK got a bit tired at the end but love how he plays. Just launches at the ball and clunks everything. Looked quite good in the ruck again as well. White on top of that showed some good signs again as well. Loves playing for the jumper.

Really proud of that group of players. Hopefully key players for our future

Carroll had a nightmare. Cowan is a gun, can’t wait to see him grow.

Francis Evans is quality, good decision maker and one of our best kicks. Motlop looks like he shouldn’t be stuck in the forward pocket, much better player in space. Flynn Young played a great game too.

But the last two weeks have provided glimpses. Could mean nothing. Could mean something. All I know is that Frankie has kicked 11 goals in four games and some of the young kids look like they have it.

We are allowed to hope.

He wasn’t exactly tearing it up for us for most of the season.

I’m pretty sure its clicked for him.

I really hope it has clicked.

Get a preseason into the kids. Focus on skills, game plan and development.

Be aggressive improving the list and the football department.

Then we can bounce back next year.

Perhaps it wasn't that great a spectacle but any win over that shower is always well worth celebrating. A nice end to what has been a pretty miserable season.

Thankfully though we've seen in recent weeks that there is some promising young talent on that list to work with. That plus a better run with injuries and we should be a lot better in 2026 hopefully.

Oh and to any Bombers fans looking in eat shit and enjoy the upcoming 21st birthday celebrations.

Did Cripps just say in his post game interview that once we were definitely out of finals contention and the season was effectively done, the mood around the club got a little lighter/freer?

That's how I heard it. If so, these guys need massive work on their psyche.
