Now that our season is over, and news is starting to break - it's time for a fresh thread.

This thread is to discuss all things list management - trades, draft, free agency, delistings and more.
As we are now officially in our off-season, we'll be wanting to keep this thread more strictly on-topic than the previous iterations.

2025 KEY DATES
Free Agency Period: Friday, October 3rd - Friday, October 10th
Trade Period: Monday, October 6th - Wednesday, October 15th
AFL Draft: Wednesday, November 19th - Thursday, November 20th

Wait a minute...the ridiculous contract for JSOS and the now rumours for Curnow. Could it be we are doing a deal with Carlton where we give JSOS a massive contract to trigger band 1 compo for Carlton (the secret herbs and spices) on the proviso they trade us Curnow (which will have a separate deal)?

I thought the same thing for a moment.

But 5 x $800K wouldn’t be enough to trigger band 1 for those types of shenanigans.

To me, he's the exact kind of player other clubs usually grab while we sit on our hands.

He's a smart footballer.

Thrown in as steak knives to reduce the requirement of offering significant draft picks. Sure he'll never get a deal done in his own right but clubs like the Eagles might be willing to take players of his or Jones calibre to help sweeten any deals. There's a number of players on our list that could be culled in a similar manner to help get deals done with teams not in contention.

They a far too late for that now. I think our shopping spree has a lot to do with Tassie coming in and the lack of talent in the next two drafts. If you aren’t a top 8 team in the next two years you are going to struggle to become one for the next 5+ years. Anyone stuck outside the 8 is be stuck in no man’s land.

He's an underrated player that copped a lot of criticism early on due to being compared to his old man who is an all time great.

He still isn't as good as his dad but he has improved from his early days, one of the few Carlton players that shows some ticker.
